She has sold more than 70 million records worldwide and is regarded as one of the best-selling female artists. Over the course of her career, she has received seven Grammy Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, and seven American Music Awards, among other honors. In 2011, she was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and in 2017 she received the Legend Award at the Soul Train Music Awards.
