Born on 8 October 1994 in Bern, he started his music career by taking part of season 9 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German edition of Pop Idol, in 2012. He won the competition, and his debut single, "Don't Think About Me", reached number one in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. His debut album, My Name Is Luca, achieved similar success by topping the charts in Austria and Switzerland, and includes the single "I Will Die for You".
