Raul Malo (born Raul Francisco Martínez-Malo Jr., August 7, 1965 - December 8, 2025) was a singer-songerwriter, guiratirs, and record producer, best known as the lead singer of The Mavericks, which he co-founded with bassist Robert Reynolds in 1989. He additionally performed as a solo artist, releasing 8 studio albums between 2001 and 2023. In June 2024, he announced a cancer diagnosis. The following September, he was forced to cancel all upcoming performances, and on December 8, 2025 Raul Malo passed away.
