Carach Angren is a Dutch symphonic black metal band formed in 2003 by two members of the now-defunct bands Inger Indolia and Vaultage. Their style is characterised by prominent orchestral arrangements, black metal and occasional death metal vocals, and guitar riffs. Their studio albums are concept albums with lyrics based on ghost stories and folklore, including the Flying Dutchman. The band distinguishes itself from other symphonic black metal groups through its use of multiple languages, including English, French, German, and Dutch.
