Jason Isbell (born Michael Jason Isbell, February 1, 1979) is a singer-songwriter and guitarists who rose to prominence as a member of Drive-By Truckers. He joined the band in 2001 and departed in 2007 when he released his first solo album "Sirens of the Ditch". In addition to his work as a solo artist, Isbell performs as the frontman for the band "Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit", which released a self-titled debut album in 2009. Since then Isbell has released several more albums as both a solo artist and with the 400 Unit. When touring, Isbell frequently performs several shows alone and then another series with his band.
