Raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, she was surrounded by the vibrant sounds of zydeco, blues, and Cajun music, which influenced her musical style. While Lauren always possessed a love for singing, it wasn't until a challenging battle with contagious cytomegalovirus at the age of 15 forced her out of high school for two years that music truly took center stage.
