Mercy Beat is a band formed at Jakarta International School. They began playing together at school events, during breaks, and during the school dances and concerts. They gained popularity in Jakarta International School the greater Jakarta area and in some other schools in Southeast Asia. Their album, "They Ruled The Stars In Slow Motion" was released in the summer of 2006. The band had to call a hiatus as some members were off to university in the US and Canada while others had to finish their education at JIS.
