Lacey Sturm was the original lead vocalist of Flyleaf, co-founding the band in 2002 with James Culpepper. In 2012, Sturm left Flyleaf and was replaced by Kristen May. May remained with the band until August 15, 2016. Her departure marked the beginning of a six-year hiatus. When Flyleaf reunited in 2022, Sturm returned as lead vocalist with the band's name slightly altered to "Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm".
