 Ken Claydon There is a concert missing from this list. On 9 January 1971, Van Der Graaf Generator played at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Also on the bill were Lindisfarne and Arc and Bell.  SecretFace Kiss was actually good for what it was worth. Played a bunch of classic tracks. I am convinced Live Evil didn't actually show because it took a good 40 minutes for them to start, and the lead singer looked suspiciously like the lead singer for the Kiss band that just played. Also their costumes looked like they found Halloween costumes in the attic. Just black ghostly drapes, and upside down crosses for necklaces. Everything was totally off. Drumming/Guitar was off sync, certain sections were completely forgotten, the singer forgot a lot of the lyrics, and he had stage presence akin to an 80s rock star; not someone like Ozzy in Sabbath. He would say "I LOVE YOU ALL" and "WE LOVE YOU" a bunch of times, which felt really out of place. Boomers next to me had their hands over their face during this train wreck.  SecretFace The concert really undersold. NO ONE moshed during Decrepit Birth, and the lead singer tried so hard to engage the crowd but the crowd was so apathetic and lame that we didn't reciprocate. To be fair, Decrepit Birth really isn't that good, but it was bizarre to see no one mosh during their show. At one point, the singer jumped into the crowd and started charging into people in hopes to start a mosh. It didn't really happen. I felt kind of bad for them. It is even funnier in hindsight because they have been around for fuckin 20 years, and the crowd didn't really give a shit. Vader / Krisiun / Decrepit Birth Jun 12, 2024
