 Gary Boyce There were many other acts that day and throughout that weekend. Food trucks were dreadful but the clown entertainment for the children was fantastic. Mark Chestnutt was at his best. They made a great choice in having him as the headliner that brought people down from all across the country and many from Europe. I had the great honor of interviewing Mark in Nashville TN way back around 1992. Though there were other greats I interviewed that day including Kathy Mattea who I was already a fan of, Skeeter Davis. a legend with such a history that needs a film trilogy to document & the greatest baritone of all time William Lee Golden during his break from The Oak Ridge Boys - it was my interview with Mark Chestnutt that made the greatest mark in my life. Mark Chestnutt is 100% the real deal. I have the utmost respect for him. It was so surreal to have moved from the USA to a town I had never heard of previously, Bournemouth England and cross paths again with Mark Chestnutt in neighboring Poole England and such a blessing. I felt like I was introducing my wife and sons’ to an old friend, even though I’d only met him in one previous occasion for around an hour many years beforehand.
