Dutch_Mike I travelled from Ayr to Glasgow to stay with family with the idea to get up very early the following morning to be on time to buy tickets at Green's Playhouse for The Who. I walked past the venue when I arrived and to my amazement there were already a few hundred people queuing up out side at 10pm the evening before. I decided to just join the queue there and then and stayed up all night. They planned to start the sale of tickets at 10 am but brought if forward by 2 hours to 8 am at the police request. By 8 am the place was absolutely heaving and windows were getting smashed in of local shops, not thorough vandalism but through the pressure of heaving bodies....was an absolutely crazy scene.....but I did get my 3 tickets!  Dutch_Mike Very odd concert as Genesis were the supporting band, who totally blew the audience away...they were superb! Van der Graaf Generator bored the audience who were largely silent for the entire set. Van Der Graaf Generator / Genesis / Graham Bell & Arc Feb 28, 2022

123Steve321 A week earlier, Elvin Bishop had a show there. There was a horrific incident. Druken hoodlums threw rocks and from a distance stoned to death 11 animals at the zoo. The night of the show I saw (not the Elvin Bishop catastrophe) the Oakland police locked the front gates at 8pm. Hundreds of show goers braved a one way exit on a cliff and entered the event. There was free beer and no animals or people got hurt. When this bad ass cop with war tattoos covering his arms told me to go up on the stage and cancel the show, I responded, look at the contract. Read rule #1. It states that the contract must be signed by the adult responsible for the event. Then I added read rule #2, the adult responsible must be over 18. I said, I am 17 and I exercise my right as a minor to remind the contract for the event. I then crossed my arms and turned my back on him and his colleagues. They harassed us. When they went in we took the beer out then brought it back in when they went out. The show ended at 1am without any events. There was however a small window in the stage door that was cracked.  123Steve321 The wind howled, the skies darkened. The rain began exactly as the Dead began to play. The Grateful Dead, Blue Oyster Cult & Charlie Daniels Feb 27, 2022
123Steve321 Charlie said, it sure looks like rain. If it rains, it will be the first time ever the Dead was rained on. It poured. There were sparks on the stage. The Dead played on through. It was awesome! The Grateful Dead, Blue Oyster Cult & Charlie Daniels Feb 27, 2022
123Steve321 The show was in an outdoor arena in Berkeley CA. It was the first time I saw the Dead live. Does anyone remember? The Grateful Dead, Blue Oyster Cult & Charlie Daniels Feb 27, 2022
123Steve321 I do not Remember the actual date. Blue Oyster Cult opened, Charlie Daniels played then announced it would be the first time it ever rained on the stage while The Grateful Dead was playing, The Dead played as it stormed. Sometime between 1978 and 1982. It was an awesome show. I can not find record of it. The Grateful Dead, Blue Oyster Cult & Charlie Daniels Feb 27, 2022
