I had attended a Queensryche autograph signing at a record store earlier that day. After the show, on side of the Coliseum met Metallica they were all out there signing autographs...I had a flyer from a local metal bands show n they signed it for me.

Madison Square Garden. What a freaking dream! This is the first time I’ve ever seen Harry and I cannot wait to hopefully see him again. Amazing. Just as I imagined it’d be.

First off, Duo Abélard was a lovely opening act, covering Rammstein hits. Absolutely next-level pyrotechnics for Rammstein, and MAN was it loud. Good thing I had ear protection! Rammstein played with a fierce passion, bowing me away with the emotion they played and sang with. The bands use of stage props, confetti, flamethrowers, smoke, lights, and set design was executed flawlessly - leaving a lasting impression on me. This was one of the most well coordinated shows I have ever seen.

Free food, free music, and good vibes. What else is there to say? Oh yeah, the passion behind Steal the Sky was palpable. Playing a mix between early 2000’s rock and todays pop hits, they catered to everyone in the college crowd. The female singer was a little overzealous, and I feel she was overshadowed by the male singers in the band who performed very well.

Shinedown still sounds great. They played a really energetic set, managing to keep it interesting from start to finish.

Jelly Roll sang with passion. I was moved by how genuine he sounded when talking about struggles with alcohol.

The amount of talent this free event brought out is staggering. With 100 bands, there’s something at Porch Fest for everyone. I personally loved the reggae stage, stage 21. It’s an amazing experience to be able to see some of the finest local musicians play on the beautiful porches of well-manicured Asbury homes. This is not an event to be missed! I’ll see you in 2023!
