Capo My last Priest show, and memory blurs them all together now. I'm sure it was a great show, just can't recall any telling details now. JUDAS PRIEST / Fastway Jul 01, 2022
Capo Went alone and drove all the hell way out in Mesa. Outdoor Amp where I saw MSG the year before, all grass. Was up front, Accept was ok, Biff and the Saxon boys put on a great show, decending eagle and all. SAXON And ACCEPT Jul 01, 2022
Capo My second time of three seeing the Scorps. Great, great show in all ways. Girlschool were good. THE SCORPIONS / Girlschool Jul 01, 2022
Capo Good show, was not a huge Maiden fan. Eddie made his apperance, half the size he would later become. Saxon was great. IRON MAIDEN / Saxon Jul 01, 2022

Capo My first of four Van Hales shows, and not just the best of the four but one of the best shows I ever attended period! I went with my brother Tony and his friends, who had seen Van Halen the year before at The Texas Jam at the Cotton Bowl where the up and coming Halen blew everybody away. This show at the Civic Plaza, with a sold out crowd of like 5000 was almost the night to the last date on their first headling tour, although not the big arenas most of the time but like our mid size Civic. Except for when I first saw AC/DC, I never experienced a crowd so hyped up full of anticipation for a show. When Van Halen opened with "Light Up The Skies" the place exploded! Seeing Eddie up close and playing his revolutionary style was mindblowing. I think alot of the crowd was guitar players just shaking their heads. David Lee Roth was the surperb frontman, at this point he was singing most of the lyrics, not like he was in later years. It was just a trancedent event, you knew you were witnessing something extraordinary. So yeah, it was great. VAN HALEN / Screams Jul 01, 2022
Capo Paul Rodgers is one of my favorite all time singers and it was a thrill to see him live and in fine voice. I remembered the show opened with a single spot light on Rodgers as he sat at a piano, dressed all in denim, white t-shirt and vest, and played "Bad Company". The whole show was a classy English rock show, with Mick Ralphs playing his tasteful guitar solos with grace. The sound was superb. The one special effect they used was mindblowing. As Simon Kirke started his drum solo, smoke filled the stage and the stage went black. But has Kirke played his solo what seemed like hundreds of laser beams shot all over the arena and over our heads in time with his beats. It seemed the lasers came from his sticks but it was more likely just from his drum riser. Just a great show. BAD COMPANY / Carillo Jul 01, 2022
Capo First time seeing one of my favorite bands, pre Hi Infidelity that is. Gary Richrath one of the more underated guitar slingers there ever was, just tore it up this show, the highlight, his epic solo during his penned classic "Golden Country". This was thr rockin version of REO before singer Kevin Cronin took them more in an AOR direction, and Gary finally left by the end of the 80's, along with the heart and soul of the band. A rockin "Ridin The Storm Out", another Richraft penned classic, brought the show to its end along with blinding flashpots on each side of the PAs. The foremention "Golden Country" brought a great show to a close. The up and coming Molly Hatchett put on a fine show, and impressed many with their Southern fried hard rock, REO SPEEDWAGON / Molly Hatchett Jul 01, 2022
Capo Cheap Trick was riding high on the surprise success of "At Budokan" in the Summer of '79. Last saw them two years before opening for KSS, not much had changed, which was a good thing as they always put on a great high energy show. I think next to Angus Young, nobody worked a stage harder then Rick Neilsen, he was all over the place, never missing a note. Robin Zander is one of those rare singers who sound exactly like they do on record in a live setting. Bun E. and Tom brought as usual on this very hot summer night under the stars. The legendary Bad Finger, or what was left of ot afyer so much tragic events, did not get a warm reception, I think most of the crowd was just too young to know their music, which was a shame.
