 Paul Van De Kant Her Majesty: 3.75 stars out of 5 OK BOOMER A musical tête-à-tête between country and rock. With a whole arrangement of classics, Her Majesty gave us a musical history lecture with pitch-perfect vocal harmonies and guitar skills. Sometimes the set was a little bit too slow for my liking, but that’s probably so the boomers don’t get their knickers in a knot. Special shout out to singing drummer Bauke Bakker, f’ing legend!  Paul Van De Kant Aestrid: 4.75 stars out of 5 LGW 21 - WALLOFSOUND Geplaceerd, maar niet minder sfeervol. Knallende drums en ronkende, rondzingende gitaren. Nog veel vetter dan ik had verwacht.  Paul Van De Kant Robert Finley: 4.25 stars out of 5 GOING PLACES Een oude timmerman werd een blinde straatmuzikant en vervolgens ontdekt en geproduceerd door Dan Auerbach. Klinkt als iets wat ik moet zien. Gelukkig was ik precies op de juiste plek, op het juiste moment. De perfecte kruising van Sam Cooke en Tom Jones, met een extra dosis Louisiana Blues!  Paul Van De Kant Incubus: 5 stars out of 5 I’M IN! Na het vertrek van bassist Dirk Lance was het even spannend hoe de opvolger van Morning View, misschien wel nog steeds hun best ontvangen album, uit de verf zou komen. In oud Roots gitarist Ben Kenny vond het olijke Californische viertal een nieuwe bassist en brachten het schijfje ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder’ uit. Volgens mij waren de meningen verdeeld, maar bij mij sloeg het album duidelijk de juiste snaar. Dubbel zo blij dus dat ze Nederland aandeden en zo’n memorable show afleverde in een zaal die misschien wel iets te groot voor hen gegrepen was. Hoewel het geluid niet al te best was, vlamde Incubus op alle fronten. Ze namen de de tijd om ook live de nummers uit te laten klinken. Dikke solo op bas, drum en gitaar, uitgebreide soundscapes achter de draaitabels en fantastische melodieën uit het keeltje van Brandon. Wat een top band, Incubus ichiban!  Paul Van De Kant Our Hollow, Our Home: 4 stars out of 5 GOT DJENT!? Hard joh hé! Melodieuze metalcore uit de UK. Eerste nummer stond ik nog bij de wc en het porselein trilde van de muur af. Super energieke en leuke support. Ondanks dat de bassist verstek moest laten gaan vanwege een hand blessure, knalde het van het podium.  Paul Van De Kant Normandie: 4.75 stars out of 5 MAMA MIA! Een beetje een spontaan concert bezoekje, dus ik ging er vrij blanco in. Heel, heel erg goed. Ze worden niet voor niks het best bewaarde geheim van Zweden genoemd. Strak gespeeld, sympathieke en goede zanger, vette songs en een mega enthousiast publiek. Met name bij de 20 minuten lange streak van hun hardste tracks, was het een golvende menigte van blije koppies. Plus de Patronaat is altijd een leuke plek om te bezoeken. Voor herhaling vatbaar!
