 wedgewill I remember this show pretty vividly. It was still more than a year out from Smashing Pumpkins releasing Siamese Dream. Even though Gish had been out for awhile, nobody in OKC really knew who they were. I certainly didn't. As I recall they played a couple songs and they did not sound good. There was a chorus of boos raining down and they cut their set very short and got combative with the crowd before leaving. Then I remember sitting in that upper deck seat for what seemed like an eternity waiting for GnR to come out. I think it was close to midnight before they started. It was a crazy late night!  JG Muller Une curiosité pour moi. Affiliée au départ à la vague antifolk, Frankie Cosmos continue à égréner des chansons indie basées sur le texte. Et ces textes ne sont pas forcément intéressants. Sur le moment je ne comprends pas grand chose mais je pressens que les enjeux des chansons sont assez ténus. Je reste à quai. Il n'y a pas de progression, Frankie semble assez blasée. Le public reprendra cependant en choeur une chanson qui a fait partie d'une BO. Vérification plus tard : les textes des chansons semblent des extraits de journal intime d'une personne dont les préoccupations sont protégées des violences du monde, autocentrée et évoluant dans un milieu privilégié.  JG Muller Quelle claque ce concert ! Le son ne s'arrête jamais, les chansons étant reliées par des interludes préenregsitrés assez oppressant. Le duo est augmenté d'un batteur et d'une bassiste à qui danse de manière communicative mais sans ostentation. Rachel Brown a la parfaite attitude slacker, parlant avec humour entre les morceaux, tandis que Nate Amos reste plus en retrait mais est visiblement le chef d'orchestre du groupe. La musique est fortement influencée par l'indie des années 90, de Pavement à Seefeel, et est délivrée donc dans un continuum abondant raccord avec le scroll des années 2020.  JG Muller Curtain et Total Resistance présentent une musique de revival new wave/gothique cultivée, bien composée et interprétée. On part parfois vers New Order ou Sarah Record (Curtain), d'autres fois vers Nine Inch Nails mais globalement on se laisse séduire par une sorte de remix planant de The Cure.
