Per una volta voglio iniziare la recensione di un concerto elogiando lo scenario: l'Arci Bellezza è veramente un piccolo gioiello e una minuscola oasi di libertà e tolleranza all'interno della tentacolare città dei lustrini e del bosco verticale. Erede di una Società di Mutuo Soccorso, con gli spazi distribuiti come in una vecchia Casa del Popolo, dà veramente l'idea di un posto dove i fasci non sono bene accetti e questo è rincuorante. Il concerto di Grant Lee Phillips è stato a sua volta un piccolo gioiello: con i suoi cinquantanove anni portati davvero male, ma con tecnica e grinta da vendere, il piccolo grande uomo dell'Ovest ci ha accompagnato in un emozionante viaggio tra le sue canzoni da solista e quelle dei Grant Lee Buffalo. Esperienza sicuramente da consigliare. Voto 8 La bellezza è in ogni cosa, ma soprattutto in serate così.

Great show on Tuesday night after massive rainstorm cancelled previous Saturday date. Was hopeing to see Emerson piano up in air and turning around which he did at California Jam but did not happen at RS concern. Palmer drums rotated around during show.

Serata strana e interlocutoria fin dall'inizio, con il gruppo di supporto degli Swim School, medíocre band scozzese capitanata dalla bionda Alice Johnson, tanto bella quanto afona, una sorta di Viola Valentino di Edimburgo. È stato poi il turno degli Inhaler, sui quali sospendo il giudizio fino alla pubblicazione del terzo album, da sempre spartiacque delle carriere musicali: se fossimo stati in un capannone di Hull nel 1984, avrei giurato di trovarmi di fronte agli Housemartins. Settantacinque minuti di canzonette senza pretese, suonate decisamente meglio dal vivo che sul disco, ma con un'accidia insolita per gente di vent'anni. Capisco che il babbo venisse da un contesto disagiato, in una Dublino che ancora risentiva del clima dei Troubles, mentre il pargolo si porterà le morosine a Dun Laghoaire con la Lamborghini, ma non si giustifica tanta mollezza. Voto 5.5 (6 con il miracolo di giugno per evitare l'esame a settembre), in attesa del terzo LP che ci dirà se i ragazzi decollano o rimangono lì come l'ovosodo che non va né su né giù. P.S. E comunque London 0 Hull 4 rimane un disco della madonna
