 PF Maple Bleachers, 9 yrs old with my 14 yr old Brother leading the way! Will never forget the amazing Three Dog Night, or the 20 minute? version of Bang a Gong! Just kept going and going. Very lucky little boy :)! (I also remember this funny smell and smoke in my eyes from people passing a 'cigarette' to my Bro! He looked at least 18!?).  GaryAura Went to this gig aged 17 - Holly & the Italians were quite memorable, maybe because to a hormonal teenage boy, the band had a good looking female singer? But their tunes were catchy: "Tell that Girl to Shut Up', "Chapel of Love", are two I remember. I did have The Vibrators LP Pure Mania, but I wasn't really into them as much as my mates were. So there performance is a blank to me that night. Just don't remember them at all. Whereas The Dickies definitely made an impression. Although the sound wasn't that great, it was loud and distorted, and vocals often drowned out. But I do recall "Fan Mail" with those Tubular bells, and "Banana Split" song. Think they also did "Stuck in a Pagoda", "Paranoid" and "Silent Night". Though it wasn't a great sound that night, and my ears were ringing it was so loud. I was standing to the tight of the stage in front of a tall stack of speakers. Overall Dickies were a fun act to watch, but musically a bit messy.  GaryAura Attended this gig aged 16 - Don't remember "The Edge" at all - While Angelic Upstarts brought a large following of Punk & Skinheads, who moshed away enthusiastically- Did tracks from their "Teenage Warning" LP: Inc "Who killed Liddle Towers", and "Leave me Alone" - But it was The Skids I came to see, and I moved up to near front of stage to watch. Richard Jobson was wearing a purple suit, and during first few songs the crowd spat remorseless at Jobson. So much so that he made an announcement to the crowd not to spit at him, and just as he said that a huge greenie gob flew through the air and landed on the lapel of his suit, which Jobson looked at in great distaste. He took his jacket off & the gig continued, but now the spitting continued worse than before. Though after about the fourth song it died out (I think no one had any spit left). Skids played their singles and tracks from 'Scared to Dance' LP: Such as "The Saints are Coming", "Into the Valley", "Charles", "Sweet Suburbia" are the songs I remember. Another amusing incident was during the gig Jobson's Front Teeth Denture fell out his mouth, which he caught before it hit the ground, and he used it to strum his guitar instead of the pick...!! The Skids were a tight band and played well. Though, like Jobson, I wasn't a fan of all the spit flying through the air, as mis-times luggies would occasionally hit us on the back of the head.
