Sherise77 My car got towed at this concert and I had to leave my boyfriend as collateral and had to drive back to Pasadena to get money. (no ATM cards yet) lol The Psychedelic Furs / The Dream Syndicate Sep 26, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen I had just attended a Peace Rally with half a million people in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. CSN&Y played a few songs at the rally to show support for the movement. Soon after the rally, I went to Winterland to see their full show. It was a concert I will never forget! Their music, their harmonies, and their message, were speaking directly to the consciousness of the antiwar generation. Cold Blood, Joy of Cooking, and Lamb were equally amazing. Each of these groups featured a female vocalist and all of them shined!! Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young / COLD BLOOD / Joy of Cooking / Lamb Sep 26, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen The Avalon was always so laid back; free apples and incense...lots of brotherly love. We had already seen the Doors in January, but they were now performing songs from the 2nd album, Strange Days, that would soon be released. We always enjoyed Country Joe's music....we played some of his songs in our local band in Burlingame. But the surprise of this show had to be the Sparrow, who later became known as Steppenwolf; with songs, Born To Be Wild, the Pusher, and more The Doors / Sparrow / Country Joe and the Fish Sep 26, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen I attended this concert 2 weeks after graduating from high school in 1967. After the Jefferson Airplane set (a San Francisco favorite), people started walking out of the Fillmore. For those that stayed to hear this unknown artist, Jimi Hendrix; they were in for the thrill of their life. Jimi walked on stage quite humbly. Then, he plugged his guitar into a Marshall stack and opened with Purple Haze....the opening riff mesmerized everyone...there were no words to describe his musical expression on his guitar....He redefined the instrument and the psychedelic blues that became a genre of its' own. Jefferson Airplane/ Gabor Szabo/ Jimi Hendrix Sep 26, 2023
Morrilld I don't remember Rick Derringer being there. I was a big fan of him while he was playing with Edgar Winter in the early 70s, so I'm pretty sure I would remember him being there. Atlanta Rhythm Section / Boston Sep 26, 2023
Brian Lee E. I thought they were supposed to show but they canceled at last minute. Someone else played there set. Bon Jovi / Cinderella Sep 26, 2023
Chris L. Garner Can anybody else here comment on the fact that Rick Derringer opened for Boston and ARS? He was making the swing through Indiana and for sure opened the next night at Notre Dame and Mar. 1st in Terre Haute, but he's not listed here. I was at this concert and he really brought it. I'm trying to prove to myself I'm not losing my marbles! Atlanta Rhythm Section / Boston Sep 26, 2023
Rob Wilbraham Sure I saw Shed Seven play Derby Uni for a graduation event, but it’s not listed in the history section, would love to see the set list from that night Shed Seven Sep 26, 2023

Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen these two artists were at the top of their game. Jackson played songs from the Pretender before its' release. Phoebe gave her beautiful ballads from the first two albums including Poetry Man and Harpo's blues. Jackson Browne / Phoebe Snow Sep 26, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen I felt it was a real privilege to listen to this progressive jazz fusion group. They recreated themselves with every album. RIP Chick Corea Chick Corea & Return To Forever Sep 26, 2023
Danny Ascencion Show did not sell-out, in fact lots of empty seats with cheapest ticket selling for $41. Paulina Rubio Sep 25, 2023
Tony Boutin Their first tour. Van Halen Sep 25, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen This had to be one of the strangest venues of any concert I ever attended. They basically removed all the bowling lanes at Kings Beach Bowl, leaving a large concrete slab foundation for rock bands. Buffalo Springfield was playing in the back of the large space on the concrete floor. We walked right up to them (only 4 or 5 feet away) and listened to their wonderful vocal harmonies and three interwoven guitar work. Loved it! Buffalo Springfield Sep 25, 2023

Stefano Morandi Bellissimo concerto, il gruppo a fine serata è stato davvero disponibile col pubblico Banco del Mutuo Soccorso / The Pillheads Sep 25, 2023
Bobby 'CullyRed' Cullinen Most people came to see the Young Rascals with their current hits of Groovin', It's a Beautiful Morning, and more. Many people left after their performance. Thank, God, we stayed for the last group on the bill, The Doors.....Jim Morrison walked out as lead singer and gave a commanding performance from first to last song. They opened with Break On Through...the crowd was riveted! The Rascals / The Doors / The Sopwith Camel Sep 25, 2023
