 Richelle this night was a dream, if we're being honest;) - on a real note, this concert was absolutely insane and i don't know that i'll ever find words strong enough to explain how powerful live music can be. i’ve listened to him for years, and in some of the darkest moments his songs have been my lifeline. the fact that i got the chance to witness them live, and front row at that, is something i’ll never forget. truly life changing.  Jeffrey Lee The Childe Harold was a saloon, restaurant and, closing in 2007, another in a long line of sorely missed venues featuring nightly entertainment. Located a short walk from Dupont Circle, the four story brownstone featured an impossibly small stage backed up against three windows on its second floor. With a capacity for only 85 people, a packed house was always assured. When the Sex Change Band played there, it was six, seven or occasionally, eight musicians, two Rootettes and Slim himself. Oh...and the hulking bulk of Winston "Spots" Kelley's Hammond B3 organ, (which had to be thrust up a narrow stairwell), amps and a drum kit thrown in for good measure.  Jeffrey Lee This was Root Boy Slim's first D.C. show following his departure from the Sex Change Band. The Black Silk Stockings (I believe) were Mary Taylor and Dani Murray (late of the Ernie Steele Band). The highlight this night was a female member of the audience crawled up on stage during "Do the Gator", laid on her back, pulled her dress up and allowed Slim to perform cunnilingus!
