Michael Camacho Best show I've been to in a long time. LA Guns was on point. And Taime Downe sounded real good. I don't remember the set list order but, for some reason they always (who ever does the set lists) skips "Give Me More Reason".. and it DEFINITELY was played.. LA Guns / Faster Pussycat Jun 30, 2022
Michael Camacho First Concert @ 13 y/o. Went with my neighbor Jim. Bruce Dickinson stopped a song to complain about an audience member throwing an "egg" at him. He invited the guy who threw the egg up on stage or that him "and the boys" could jump down there & kick his ass instead and then finally moved on & continued playing... I just always wondered, who brings eggs to a concert?? Iron Maiden / Waysted Jun 30, 2022

CAPO My second Van Halen show. They were now headling the big arenas and had a huge stageshow to match. Van Halen always, for me, had the loudest and most rowdy crowds of all the shows I attended through the years. Eddie was pure magic on guitar, always the highlight of any Van Halen show. David Lee Roth was now more interested in being the head entertainer then singing the songs. But that what you got at a Halen show and no one complained. Bombastic and high energy show. Openers Black Cats only made it through a couple of songs before being booed off and pelted by thrown stuff. As I said elsewhere, Phoenix had a great rep for being tough on opening acts. VAN HALEN / Black Cats Jun 30, 2022
CAPO My second Rush show. New background films accompanying the lighting effects, although Rush's musicanship was always the real highlight of their shows along with the visuals. Fellow Canadians Max Webster opened, got a good reception, even though they were not as well known here as in their homeland. RUSH / Max Webster Jun 30, 2022
CAPO REO was riding high on their first number #1 album "High Infidelity". The crowd was pumped, as REO were always a favorite live show to attend in these parts, now they had a huge album to boot. Great show, Gary Richrath killer as always on guitar. A surprise fireworks display accompanied the usual flashpots on stage during the finale of "Ridin The Storm Out". Great show. REO SPEEDWAGON / 707 Jun 30, 2022
CAPO My First Priest show, and I think their first real U.S. headling tour. Iron Maiden opened, with Paul DiAnno still on vocals. They went down well although not well known even to this Priest crowd. Steve Marriott's Humble Pie opened, giving a rousing performance, although alot of the crowd was too young to know their songs as much. Priest was great, with a cool looking all yellow and red themed stage. I remember during the middle slow section of "Victim Of Changes" as smoke covered the stage from above and below and the lighting rig slowly descended in vibrant colors, it still sticks in my mind today. Really cool effect. Of course Rob rode the Harley out for "Hell Bent For Leather" and it all ended with great pyro. Wonderful show. JUDAS PRIEST / HUMBLE PIE / IRON MAIDEN Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Great to see an actual British Invasion band. The Davies's brothers were great. THE KINKS / THE RAMONES Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Great double bill. BOC still is one of my all time favorite bands, During Godzilla behind the stage was a huge smoke belching Godzilla himself. BOC always had killer lighting and pyro. Buck Dharma tore it up on guitar, a highlight his solo during "Veteran of the Psychic Wars". Foghat was great, all white stage, amps, drums as I recall. Of course ended with "Slow Ride". BLUE OYSTER CULT / FOGHAT Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Typical Van Halen show, including the opening act being booed off early in their set. The highlight, as always Eddie's solo spot. Roth was Roth. VAN HALEN / Enemy Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Went with a group of friends. Boring show. Oh, I do remember the then unknown Bryan Adams was nearly booed off the stage but made it through. Phoenix had a well deserved rep as being tough on opening acts. FOREIGNER / Bryan Adams Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Good triple bill. My main memory was Triumph went overboard with all their pyro! TRIUMPH / Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush / Riot Jun 30, 2022
CAPO I loved the Bon Scott years and I never liked Brian Johnsons voice, personal taste. But I had to see Angus and the boys at least once live. They skiped the phoenix area during their "Back In Black tour the year before so we were are primed to see them. At this point they were the biggest band in the world(popularity wise) and I never experienced such a high level of excitement and anticipation from a crowd except for my first Van Halen show back in '79. Also, for an outdoor show, one of the loudest too. From the first sight of Angus, to the finale, they could do no wrong. One of the highest energy shows I ever saw. As we filed out a huge burning AC/DC sign was lighting up the sky on a nearby hill. AC/DC / Midnight Flyer Jun 30, 2022
CAPO Second time seeing the Ronnie James Dio fronted Sabbath. Dio's vocals were superb. I remember alot of lighting crosses being used to good eerie effect. The Outlaws were fantastic. Their version of "Ghost Riders" was getting heavy play, and of course they ended with their epic guitar jam "Green Grass And High Tides". BLACK SABBATH / THE OUTLAWS Jun 30, 2022
CAPO First time seeing Genesis. Great show, wonderful stage lighting. Phil Collins was an engaging and funny frontman. A highlight was when he and touring drummer Chester Thompson had a dueling drum solo contest. Great show. GENESIS Jun 30, 2022
CAPO It's funny how a bands legacy or popularity can change years after they stop being a band, in this case Freddie Mercury's death. This show I attended was during Queen's last ever U.S. tour, and while pretty full crowd wise, was not a sell out, about 13,300 tickets sold out of 15,000. The Phoenix show did better than most stops, Google Queen Hot Space Tour and you will see some shows only sold half the tickets available. My point is the Queen I saw was a popular band but not the Legends they seem to be today. The show was of course, bombastic and great. They always had state of the art lighting rigs and this show was no diferent. Three giant pods of lighting rigs would move all over the stage, really effective during Brian May's solo spot. Freddie was regal and in fine voice. A great, over the top performance by the band. QUEEN / BILLY SQUIRE Jun 30, 2022
CAPO KISS became my favorite band for a few years after my brother brought home Alive! in the spring of '76. It never left our turntable all that Summer. I went all in, like many back then, with the posters, mags, ect. KISS became a way of life for a few years. Anywayfor my 14th birthday my folks got me a ticket, and I went with my brother Tony and his friends, the tag along little brother. Any way the first thing I thought when we got to the Coliseum was I never saw so many pretty teenage girls in one place. Cheap Trick, then an unknown band opended up. What hit me was how loud they were, the bass and drums rumbling in my chest. Rick Nielsen was all over the stage, put on one hell of a show. I remember Robin Zander all in white and Bun E. 's oversized drum sticks when they ended their set. The crowd loved them. When the lights came up I was shocked at how "foggy" everything looked, and that sweet smell, ha! After a while, the lights went out, the mirror ball in the middle of the arena started spinning and for the first time I saw thousands of lighters in the crowd flick on. Out came KISS, and it was a little anticlimatic. I mean they were great but you wait for years and then its over, and it wasn't quite what you thought. I think I built it up in my mind like it would be like the second coming or something. I remember Paul Stanley dedcating "Rock N Roll All Night" to Elvis, who had died the week before. So the lights came back up, and we all filed out, ears ringing with confetti in our hair. It was good. KISS / CHEAP TRICK Jun 30, 2022
CAPO KISS was my favorite band from '76-'79. Then Dynasty was released and I moved on to better bands, really. I still give the first Alive! a spin, one of my favorite albums. But anyway, I was bored and spare of the moment got a ticket, which was easy as the aerna was alittle more then half full. I went also because I was a little nostalgic. They were ok. But no Ace, no Peter, no makeup or the excitement of the '70s. Ho hum. KISS / Giuffria Jun 30, 2022
