LiamMcKnuckles There was no setlist from this show, as it was cancelled. Max's wife didn't like something about the rider or the venue, or some such rockstar wife nonesense. My friends and I found out which hotel Snot and Hed P.E were staying at, and we crashed their rooms. Hed P.E were kinda divas. Considering their level of talent, they'd be lucky to get a moniker like ",ShopKo Korn". But the guys in snot were really nice and spent hours talking with us. Considering I only got a ticket because I had a theory that Soulfly was gonna play some Nailbomb songs; I made out pretty good. I was fortunate to outgrow the "nu metal" thing when I did. But to this day, I am super grateful that I got to hang out with Snot for a few hours and talk hardcore and old punk music. If they came back to Utah today (25 years later) I'd 100% buy a ticket and wade through lame nostalgia acts to check out their set. Soulfly / Snot / Incubus / (Hed) P.E. Feb 15, 2022
Alexander Teodor-Mazilu This was my first post-pandemic concert and it was an incredibly liberating show. This was my third time seeing Tool, and Miami 2022 was easily the best performance I've seen them put on to date. The setlist hit me deep. I went out of my way to avoid seeing the setlist posted online from other spots on the tour. I wanted to be surprised and I was. I was very pleased we got to hear Opiate, Hooker with A Penis, and the Patient. I would have liked to have heard Right in Two, like they did in Orlando, but not over The Patient. One track I was really hoping to hear would have been "Hush" - since it is so relevant right now with Spotify egregiously taking down episodes of the Joe Rogan Experience (including the episodes with Maynard) , but they only played Opiate. I was hoping Maynard would say something about that and remind everyone how vile censorship is with some good old fashion HUSH but no such luck. Still it was great to hear Opiate played live. I thought it was amazing to hear the Fear Inoculum songs live, absolutely no complaints there. The songs sounded amazing live. Hearing them live helped me appreciate the songs on a deeper level. I realized while listening to these songs live how different tool is from other progressive metal contemporaries, who at this stage 20+ years into their careers have started to release somewhat boring albums, bands who at their age have kind of lost their edge. Not tool. Tool still has never put out a single lame song, everything on P/I is awesome and hearing these played live was very exciting and satisfying. I loved Descending, always have but I was surprised to find it better live than on the album. Culling Voices was a little eerie and kind of set a weird mood. Seemed like everyone turned inward during that song and got lost in their own thoughts, I know I certainly did. Still enjoyed hearing it live. And of course, Invincible is and has been my favorite from F/I. An incredible song, was just an epic way to end off the night. Only 7emptest was missing. I would have really liked to have heard 7emptest but I get why they didn't play it. At 15:44 it is a ridiculously long song to play live that takes away from other fan favorites. With that being said, they really didn't play any of of the big fan favorites that my girlfriend would have known, except for The Pot. No Aenima, No Schism, No 46&2, no Lateralus, No Sober Or Parabola etc. It really didn't matter at all she still had a blast and knew many of the songs, mostly from F/I and Lateralus, but I appreciate how we got treated to a real deal tool fan set list with classics like Pushit, Opiate and Hooker with a Penis. My favorite was Hooker with Penis. I never seen it performed live and it really blew me away. They nailed it note for note and it is one hell of an intense song to hear live, and very very fun to sing along to. I went home and started trying to learn it on bass, not realizing it has riffs in 11/8 time signature wtf. All in all we had an amazing night and are very thankful TOOL came to Miami. We hope its not another 10 years before they play south Florida again. The only thing that was disappointing was that we were not able to get there early enough to acquire any merchandise. We came from West Palm Beach, and tried to leave work as early as possible but no luck. Would have really liked even just 1 shirt but everyone bought up everything. To all those seeing them on upcoming tour dates, don't fuck around. Get there early, skip work all together if you have to or you will not be getting any merchandise. You've been warned.
