Tim O’S From the tour's website: A five city tour, featuring some of the best known and most respected figures in rock, blues has been set to celebrate the legacy and music of Jimi Hendrix next month. The tour launches October 16 at Washington's Constitution Hall. Experience Hendrix, LLC, the Hendrix family-owned company charged entrusted with preserving and protecting the legacy of Jimi Hendrix is the presenter of the tour and lends its name to the endeavor which runs through October 20th. Other tour stops include New York; Hampton Beach, NH; Atlantic City and Waterbury, CT. Featuring artists who will be performing music written by and associated with Jimi Hendrix include blues giant Buddy Guy, pedal steel innovator Robert Randolph, and contemporary guitar great Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Special guests include Robby Krieger, guitarist of the Doors, Rolling Stones veteran guitarist Mick Taylor and Hubert Sumlin, the Mississippi-born guitarist who worked with both Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters. Most remarkably, Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (bass), the same Jimi Hendrix Experience rhythm section that played behind Hendrix at Woodstock is the will be on hand for the Experience Hendrix tour dates as will Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon, a/k/a Double Trouble, the late Stevie Ray Vaughan's highly regarded rhythm section. Native American band Indigenous, Eric Gales, the Memphis guitarist who is heard on the Power of Soul Jimi Hendrix tribute album and Kenny Olson of Kid Rock's band are also part of the Experience Hendrix Tour. Guitar World's renowned music transcriber and Hendrix guitar instructor Andy Aledort will once again join the tour. Various combinations of these artists in performance are sure to make the concerts very special events for both new and veteran Hendrix fans. The new Experience Hendrix tour is an exciting prospect for Billy Cox whose history with Jimi Hendrix dates back to their days in the Army together. He commented, 'It's a thrill for me to play Jimi's music for audiences now as it was in the early 1960s. The Experience Hendrix tour just show you how timeless this music really is.' Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix noted, 'Everyday, we see how Jimi's musical legacy continues to transcend generational and cultural boundaries. This tour is our way to give live audiences a concert experience that reflects the genius of his unifying spirit.' Experience Hendrix LLC's director of catalog development John McDermott stated, 'As was the case when the idea behind touring Experience Hendrix was conceptualized some years back, we thought that a live presentation of the music that Jimi Hendrix created and which inspired him would be terrific means of conveying his continuing relevance to today's audiences.' The first Experience Hendrix Tour which also featured Guy, Shepherd, Sumlin, Gales, Double Trouble as well as Mitchell and Cox played sold out concert dates in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle in February of 2004, garnering rave reviews at the time and it is expected that, in the future, Experience Hendrix will make its way to other markets.  Tim O’S Steve Winwood opened with an incredible non-stop 1 hour set that brought you through his early Spencer Davis work, Blind Faith, Traffic and Solo music. Great show by himself. Tom Petty was in great form as he returned to the town that launched his career. He reminisced how WBCN and the Big Mattress were the first radio station that started playing his American Girl release which then caught on across the country. Solid set with tons of energy. RIP TP Steve Winwood / Tom Petty / Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers Feb 06, 2021
Tim O’S Had the pleasure of seeing the full original band on their 2nd album tour. Chrissie Hynde, James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon, and Martin Chambers. Honeyman-Scott died in June of that year. Small venue an great show. The Pretenders / Miles Vegas Feb 06, 2021

Ric Kilmer Seattle area band Box of Daylight began as 3XO around 1991 (just as "grunge" was becoming popular nationally and internationally). It morphed briefly as Rainmaker (with their video "Dogs at Bay") before settling on the BOD name circa 1993. It disbanded in 1995 or early 1996. Box of Daylight Feb 06, 2021

zimtrim Please don't tell others what their "obligations" are. You're not the site owner, Mr. Perfect. I've communicated with the site owner in the past and he does not have an attitude like you. The Police Feb 05, 2021
1bgsky Well, the site targets those who actually were at these concerts. While certainly exceptions can be made, it's your obligation to double check that the info is correct, which in the case of the Police is very easy via the PoliceWiki. Cheers. The Police Feb 05, 2021
