SalChicho Bobby, in no way is this about “winning”. And obviously, we both have strong feelings about this. A list of shows that are falsely titled and dated (when there is already a separate field for that) isn’t particularly interesting to me either. If you uncheck the title field box (bottom of entry page) on your entries you won’t have to see bands listed twice. You’ve summed it all up very nicely, though. See you at the *good* concerts.  Bobby B: The Vinyl Vagabond That's fine Sal, thanks for engaging in this discussion. I'll just leave it alone; you obviously have very strong feelings about this, so have fun. I've enjoyed scrolling through my concert lists and clearly seeing what tour is being represented without having to check through notes and whatnot, and I've also enjoyed looking through the lists of others who been entering their concert info the same way. A list of just a bunch of band names (entered twice because there's already a separate field for that) isn't particularly interesting to me, but whatever, it's fine. The point is, we're both passionate about the live experience, and this site has been an awesome way to go back and reflect on these memories, and I've never had any desire to debate about stupid things like the official name of a concert. So, with that, you win sir! Feel free to change all of my concert titles if you want. Just kidding, don't hit me...peace bro! Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 24, 2019
SalChicho Again, you have reinterpreted “official” and “name of the tour” for your own agenda. Justin provided you with examples and clearly said that the title field should contain “the official name of the concert or the name of the tour”. This in no way indicates that the album being toured is the title of the tour. If the concert/tour does not have an official name, it is not by default titled to coincide with the band’s latest release, which is exactly what you are doing. You have now set your own criteria, provided zero reference to prove that either of these tours had official names, and yet my physical copy of a ticket (showing that it does not) is somehow explained as an unacceptable reference. Also, setlist.fm’s data is user-generated, and can be named anything by anyone without any validation, and using this to support your argument has zero credibility. Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 24, 2019
Bobby B: The Vinyl Vagabond Sal, I emailed Justin and this was his response, "The short-ish answer is that the 'Concert Title' field should contain the official name of the concert or festival (for example "Sasquatch Music Festival 2006") or the name of the tour (for example "Mare Vitalis 15 Year Anniversary Tour")." That indicates that, for now, the tour is the title. Using what is written on the ticket is not a good reference, especially since so many shows use multiple sources to print their tickets, where you'll often see variations. Other shows don't even offer hard copy tickets anymore. The fact is, by this criteria, the name of the tour can be the title. Even this specific show is titled "Reunion Tour" on setlist.fm. Anyway, more guidelines are going to be provided soon enough. Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 24, 2019
SalChicho So, to recap, the "title" field is not open to opinion. Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 24, 2019
SalChicho So, to recap, the "title" field is not open to opinion. Hank / Teenage Fanclub Mar 24, 2019
SalChicho Bobby, this is direct from the knowledge base: "The "facts" of a concert (which bands played, the date, venue, location, setlists, etc) are the same for everybody. This is the information you enter when you create a New Concert or go to the Edit Concert page. The information that you add/edit here should be factually accurate and free of opinions because it affects all of the other attendees of the concert.” That you’ve worked hard on your archive is irrelevant to keeping it factual. Changes you make (titles for concerts that are not in fact titled) affect all attendees. A personal entry is futile as duplicates are being merged. So please reserve your personal amendments for the Notes, which is where I will continue to move your titles (if the concert has no title). Hank / Teenage Fanclub Mar 24, 2019

Reddog37 We went and the show also included Charlie Daniels who came out & jammed with MTB...Joe Walsh very good & the headlining ABB were just not that good , obviously the Duane era (that I witnessed many times)was no comparision to the post Duane era but the at the time ABB were titled "The Worlds Most Popular Band" but they didn't live up to it this performance....The best of all was the MTB , they blew everybody off the stage & they opened!! Show started @ 7pm & ABB walk off after Whippin Post with no encore @130 Not on of the best concerts to pass thru Dallas in 74 The Allman Brothers Band / joe walsh and barnstorm / Marshall Tucker Band / Molly Hatchet Mar 24, 2019
Bobby B: The Vinyl Vagabond Sal, I'm not trying to be difficult and if there's a forum somewhere on this site where that rule is clearly stated, then direct me there and I'll never make the change again. But the fact is, that I've worked very hard since 2016 to enter in my own concert info for over 400 concerts I've attended, so that when I look at my personal concert page, I can clearly see who the headliner was, and what the title of the show is, which is often the tour title (much of the time, not always, the show is even listed this way on setlist.fm). If you have a different preference, than I suggest just making your own personal entry. Now again, if that rule on what constitutes a show titleis somewhere on this site, then I humbly apologize and I'll stop updating my own entries. Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 23, 2019
SalChicho This performance was not titled "Ride: Reunion Tour 2015". Yes, it was a reunion tour, in 2015, but the show was not marketed with this title, nor was the ticket printed with this title. The information that you are dead set on titling this performance with is appropriate for the Notes and the Notes only. Ride / Tess Parks and The Auras Mar 23, 2019
SalChicho Hey Bobbybto, stop giving concerts a title when they do not in fact have one. Artists are almost always touring in support of an album, which does not mean that that respective tour is called anything. When in doubt, refer to your ticket. I have provided an image of my ticket from this show, clearly showing that this was simply Teenage Fanclub performing another date on their tour. The Notes are the proper place for any details regarding what album the tour is in support of. Hank / Teenage Fanclub Mar 23, 2019
