I say that because a guy sitting next to me asked if I wanted to take a picture on the floor. We went down and I ended up on the edge of the stage.  Destroyer66 What a great place to see concerts. I was just reading that, in 1978, the Century Theatre met the wrecking ball after the balcony began swaying during a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert and housing inspectors warned that another such show could turn deadly. I'm not sure why, but I never saw a show from the balcony, I was always on the main floor with great seats (front row at times). I'm also not sure how we had that kind of seats all the time, considering that we lived 100 miles from Buffalo. I can't remember where we bought tickets, unless they were sold through Ticketron, which had an outlet near us, in Olean, NY. New Century Theater Aug 26, 2022

The beauty and immediacy of Steve Miller’s work, whether at its most playful or most serious, is palpable. Steve Miller Band’s most recent performance at Pac Amp was in 2018; it was a sell-out show. Guitarist, multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter, bandleader, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and Songwriters Hall of Fame electee Steve Miller is beyond excited to finally get back on the road. Putting his pandemic time to great use, Miller dug deep into his archives and found an unreleased, full-length concert recording and released it. Steve Miller Band Live! Breaking Ground: August 3, 1977, came out in spring 2021 and was accompanied by a live concert video featuring the full performance that is available now to stream on The Coda Collection on Amazon Prime Video. 2020 was shaping up to be another historic year for Miller when Covid sadly forced him to cancel all of his plans. While 2021 saw the release of the Breaking Ground album and video, the process of going through his vaults only intensified his desire to perform for his fans around the world in person once again. These 2022 shows are going to be very special as a result. Steve Miller was a mainstay of the San Francisco music scene that upended American culture in the late ’60s. With albums like Children of the Future, Sailor and Brave New World, Miller perfected a psychedelic blues sound that drew on the deepest sources of American roots music and simultaneously articulated a compelling vision of what music – and society – could be in the years to come. Then, in the ’70s, Miller crafted a brand of rock ‘n’ roll music that was polished, exciting and irresistible, and that has dominated radio through today. Hit followed hit in an endless flow: “The Joker,” “Livin’ in the USA,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Rock’n Me,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Jet Airliner,” “Jungle Love,” and “Abracadabra” among them.  Wicked Goddess So Grant came on and did his set, and he was wonderful. I really enjoyed seeing him play live. After about an hour or so, he brought up Jon Brion and *insert drumroll* Neil Finn, to play "Honey Don't" with him. Then he brought up (Crowded House bassist) Nick Seymour. They played "Only Talking Sense" and "Four Seasons in One Day." Yeah, seeing Nick on stage playing "Four Seasons" with Neil made me a little misty eyed. Then Nick sat back down, and Grant, Neil and Jon proceeded to tear through a cover set that included David Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" (with Grant singing lead, The Kink's "Sunny Afternoon" (Neil singing lead), and "Tainted Love" (Jon Brion singing lead). There were lots more songs I didn't know, including a hysterically funny and quite good improvisation built around them not understanding someone yelling out "Mean to Me."
