Andy J GREAT HIGH MOUNTAIN TOUR, Saturday at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive. $50-$75. 312-559-1212. Among the heap of chores that need doin’ out on ol’ Bluegrass Revival Farm is milkin’ the cash cows. Apparently, that’s T Bone Burnett’s job, as he’s organized this successor to the lucrative “Down from the Mountain” bluegrass tour. This extravaganza lacks some of the previous tour’s star power but still features first-rate talent, including Alison Krauss and Union Station, the Cox Family and Norman and Nancy Blake.  Sthpc Just before David Bowie took to the stage international football was shown on the giant screen around the stage as England were playing France and were winning the game at one point but lost the game to late goals - which brought a dampner to proceedings for all the English football fans that had been watching. and then...Zaappppppp all the big screens showing football went blank and dark.. Shortly thereafter...David Bowie and his band took to the stage and "everything was alright" again... and we sang all night long... Isle of Wight Festival 2004 Apr 30, 2025
Sthpc Magical evening. The Odeon Hammersmith for me and most David Bowie fans will always be the location for "Ziggy's farewell gig" on July 3rd 1973 that I was fortunate to have been at. Eventim Apollo Apr 30, 2025
Sthpc David Bowie on the main Pyramid stage on the last night playing a greatest hits show. What a show and what a performance it was even though David told us all he had a bad cold and was poorly.. you would not have known it by his and the band's energy levels to see him dancing/bopping on stage like a teenager during "Changes" was a joy to behold. I can't trace time... Glastonbury Festival 2000 Apr 30, 2025
Sthpc I remember that David let us all know that Iman and family were up in the balcony and was waving and sending kisses her way all evening during the show. It was sweet to behold. David and the band were in great form. He Started the show with "Quicksand" - just him and his guitar to begin with. Later on... A blinding version of "All the young dudes". Memorable concert!  Sthpc I went to this concert with my sister - we had seats behind the stage - very strange... but we saw all the band movement from there. I always remember a small incident - somebody throwing a leaflet/some paper of some sort on stage during a song and David Bowie seeing it, and then grabbing the paper/leaflet and immediately sitting cross legged in the middle of his song to mime reading it! Amazing to see the thin white duke do that. David Bowie Apr 30, 2025
Sthpc Great stuff! your first David Bowie concert. Were you to know then that you would follow him and his music 40 years later! incredible really. The Marquee club. I know it well! My old haunt. David Bowie / The Buzz Apr 30, 2025
Sthpc Sorry if this is not the right way to communicate directly with you but I do not see (or know)how to get this to you as a private message. Wow! Just wow..... I am truly in awe of your list of concerts, going back to 1966- being your first concert of David Bowie at the Marquee club in 1966! My old haunt!! I spent a lot of time myself there in 1974... You can see some of the bands that I remembered seeing from my Marquee days... on my list of concerts. Really and truly your 40 odd years of going to concerts is mind blowing and your devotion and dedication to the music of David Bowie is incredible. You really did travel a lot! Well done you!  Sthpc @Chris Pike....Regarding your comment of July 11, 2023 Sebastian Bach was not swearing non stop ("like a trooper" as you put it) for the whole of the Skid row set... This youtube video will remind you and others of what actually happened - you will see that the moment you refer to lasts for just over 2 minutes, 20 seconds and he is not swearing constantly during that time. See here: https://youtu.be/LcF4SJ2YAqQ The moment happens @ 25.11 up unti 27 .37 when the song "Get the F **k out" starts. There is the also the context for the swearing to be taken into account as he and the band were obviously still angry/ pissed off by the letter they had received from Brent council which was a heavy handed approach to try to stop Skid Row playing a song that has the F word in it.
