iain belcher Even better than Chuck Berry who also appeared that day. That and the Capital Radio DJ getting canned off the stage ! B.B. King Mar 12, 2026
ConcertKeeper A Flock of Seagulls was supposed to open on the original date 9/29/1982. They tapped Wall of Voodoo (they were playing in Dallas that week at another venue). The Go-Go's / Wall Of Voodoo Mar 12, 2026
iain belcher Chuck Berry at the Ally Pally - could you ask for anything more. Well yes, BB King - luckily he was there as well. Chuck Berry Mar 12, 2026
iain belcher Remember bouncing around to 'I will follow'. Also the clouds of steam coming off the crowds outside as we were leaving. Best concert I ever went to. U2 / The Alarm Mar 12, 2026
iain belcher Not a huge fan of Elvis Costello but went to this concert which was mostly memorable for the first time I saw John Cooper Clarke ! Also remember that Richard Hell has the most basic of sets - just the instruments. Elvis Costello / Richard Hell & The Voidoids / John Cooper Clarke Mar 12, 2026

Titouti Bjr ! Inoubliable ! Cordialement Téléphone Mar 12, 2026

manabu neko Aphex Twin—Richard said this legendary Osaka show was "the best," yet somehow it was erased from the internet and supposedly never happened. So for about five days now (since around March 7, 2026), I've been posting relentlessly online to prove the real truth that was being denied. What I found after a desperate search was the archive of Pollstar magazine's January 20, 1997 issue. Page 15 clearly states: "Jan 30 Osaka JAP Bayside Jenny" and "Feb. 1 Tokyo JAP Liquid Room". The attached photo is proof. I finally proved the Osaka show happened. And now even the AI is saying "The Osaka show did happen". Next month, I'll create a blog so all AI can crawl it. _March 12, 2026. Aphex Twin Mar 12, 2026
manabu neko Aphex Twin had visited Japan for DJ sets prior to 1997, but his first visit for a live PA performance was in 1997, with the first show at Bayside Jenny in Osaka. The date was January 30, 1997. Bayside Jenny had a capacity of 1,800, but could hold up to 2,000 if packed. The venue was absolutely packed that night. This was roughly double the capacity of the Tokyo Liquid Room venue used for subsequent shows. The energy at the venue was extraordinary. After the show ended, Richard D. James stated it was "the second best live show of his life." Apologies to those who can't read Japanese, but that's what it says in the attached photo. Aphex Twin Mar 12, 2026

Cookie OK, so meeting Amity the night before at the Penrith Panthers VIP Event was incredible. Such nice blokes and I got some cool stuff signed by the band. But this one at Wollongong Uni hall was a special night. With my niece Casey joining uncle on her first Amity gig, I knew what to expect and even the 3 support bands didn't disappoint. Headwreck from Brisbane really got the crowd amped. My first time seeing them also, they were really good. Then RedHook from Sydney. The female lead singer of this awesome 4 piece band was incredible and had the crowd going off with their high energy set of nu-metal thumpers, sure to become classics in the not-too-distant future. In Hearts Wake from Byron Bay, have a huge following in the crowd and it's easy to see why, their shows tear the paint off the walls, with lead singer Jake Talyor imposing his frame over the stage, encouraging fans to sing as loud as possible to songs like Worldwide Suicide, Hellbringer and Earth Walker. Just incredible. If you google the name you'll see so many great tours here in Oz and overseas with other huge band like Stray From The Path, While She Sleeps and Polaris. Will be keeping an eye on these fellas. The Amity Affliction brought the ruckus deluxe!! Opening with Kickboxer, Like Love and Drag the Lake, the crowd went berserk and the pit opened up nice and early and Casey and I were well amongst it, so much fun. There was a couple of "walls of death" but one in particular was during the song Death's Hand, which had special resonance for me [for my dear dad] and I screamed the lyrics and launched hard into the wall, and it was like I was bulletproof. again, so much fun. During their "Ballad", Soak Me In Bleach, I asked Casey if she wanted to Crowd surf, hell yeah, she said, so I gave her the instructions and up she went, while I videoed it. It was such a special moment. The encore was their classic Pittsburgh which got the crowd amped even higher, I nearly lost my voice again lol. Can't wait for the next time I get to see The Amity Affliction. Rock on boys... The Amity Affliction / In Hearts Wake / Redhook / Headwreck Mar 12, 2026
Quedé con un vacío REAL como por dos semanas y ni siquiera tengo videos buenos para ver y recordar porque me la pasé gritando y saltando que no logré ni enfocar el escenario.  pedronw Yeah, the guy stabbing himself was sickening, and then when the lights went down, the music was so haunting and dark, we left. I've never gone to a CURE concert again. The Cure Mar 11, 2026
Camille Allman We were about 20 rows up from where the guy was stabbing himself in the sternum area. With a Bowie Knife. With people surrounding him. The giant security guys came over, saw what was happening, turned around and went back to the stage area. The cops showed up and the guy casually walked to some floor seats and sat down like he was waiting for the show. About 6 cops finally got his arms and legs, and bleeding stabby guy was hauled out kicking. Then the lights went down and the show started. Years later I became friends with Lol and his wife Cindy, and the first thing I asked when I met him was about that show. He said they didn't know until after it was over. Glad to see others posting here b/c it was a weird-ass thing to see. The Cure Mar 11, 2026
