 Alpoh Zwei Konzeptalben, die sich mit dem christlich geprägten geozentrischen Weltbild auseinandersetzen, ein weiteres zu einem Zeitabschnitt aus der Frühzeit der Erde, zuletzt mit Pelagial eines zu den verschiedenen Schichten der Ozeane: Die Themen, mit denen sich das Prog-Metal-Kollektiv The Ocean rund um Gitarristen-Mastermind Robin Staps auf seinen Alben beschäftigt, sind weit weg von leichter Kost. Das gilt auch für den Sound der Musiker: Sludge Metal, Postrock, klassische Musik und progressive Elemente fließen bei der ursprünglich in Berlin beheimateten Band zu einem kraftvollen Sound zusammen, der gleichermaßen komplex und eingängig ist - und sich natürlich vor allem live mächtig entfaltet, wenn The Ocean weite, melodische Klangflächen aufspannen, atmosphärischen Gesang ausbreiten und dann alles mit nervenzerrenden Metal-Eruptionen erschüttern, während im Hintergrund Animationen und Lichteffekte über eine Leinwand flimmern.  Alpoh KONZERT: Natürlich! Show Me The Body (SMTB)... ist eine Band aus New York City, die 2009 gegründet wurde. Nachdem sie 2015 unabhängig "Yellow Kidney" veröffentlichten, brachten sie im selben Jahr die "SMTB" EP über das Letter Racer Collective heraus. 2016 unterzeichneten sie bei Loma Vista und veröffentlichten ihr Debütalbum "Body War", gefolgt von ausgedehnten Touren in den USA und Europa. Zurück in New York starteten sie das Mixtape-Projekt "Corpus 1" mit vielen Künstlern, was den Beginn ihrer Community-Bemühungen als Corpus markierte. 2017 veröffentlichten sie die "Challenge Coin" EP im Electric Lady Land Studio. Zwischen Herbst 2018 und Anfang 2019 produzierte SMTB drei Projekte für Corpus. 2019 präsentierten sie dann ihr zweites Album "Dog Whistle", das in Long Island City, Queens, geschrieben und im Sommer 2018 in Los Angeles aufgenommen wurde. Scowl… dei aufstrebende Band hat nach ihrem gefeierten Debütalbum "How Flowers Grow" eine neue EP namens "Psychic Dance Routine" veröffentlicht. Die EP reflektiert die Erfahrungen der Band auf Tournee und ihre künstlerische Entwicklung. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten Will Yip entstanden fünf Songs, die eine Mischung aus Hardcore und Alternative bieten. Die Leadsingle "Opening Night" zeigt kantige Melodien und dynamische Riffs, während "Shot Down" den Kampf zwischen Angst und Zuversicht darstellt. Der Titeltrack "Psychic Dance Routine" ist ein Höhepunkt der EP mit seinem einfühlsamen Gesang und introspektiven Texten. Insgesamt demonstriert die EP Scowls Ethos der Selbsttreue und Innovationsfreude in der Musik. BIB… Ihre Musik klingt ziemlich wild und energiegeladen! BIB scheint definitiv den Hardcore-Punk auf die Spitze zu treiben, mit einer Mischung aus kräftigen Riffs und verzerrten Vocals.  Alpoh 11.08.2022 | MELT BANANA Im Tagestipp der Klappe Auf steht: Wie nennt man eine solche Musik? Grindcore, Japanoise, Punk, Techno? Die japanische Noiserockband Melt-Banana sprengt alle Richtlinien der Rockmusik und verschiebt die Genre-Grenzen des Punk in mehrere Richtungen. Im Spannungsfeld zwischen Lärm und Stille, gewolltem Chaos und strategischer Ordnung, Speedmetal und Techno, Art und Trash, Punk und Pop kreieren Melt-Banana Tracks die klingen wie eine Mischung aus Atari Teenage Riot, Public Enemy, John Zorn und Punk. Ichiro Agata, der Gitarrist der Band, quält aus seinem Instrument durch Rückkopplung, starke Verzerrung und grenzenloser Übersteuerung die absurdesten Geräusche. Und Yasuko Onuki mit ihrer rasiermesserscharfen Stimme mutiert auf der Bühne zum hysterisch kreischenden, wild agierenden Rio-Grrrl. Lobeshymnen unzähliger Stars untermauern den Kult-Status der Band.  Alpoh 12.07.2022 | CLOWNS + THE DEATH SET + SICKBOYZ The Death Set The Death Set ist eine experimentelle Musikband mit Wurzeln im Punkrock, manchmal auch als Art Punk bezeichnet. Die Band wurde 2005 in Sydney, Australien gegründet. Clowns ...aus Melbourne wurden 2010 als Hardcore Punk-Band gegründet, haben ihren Sound aber seitdem stetig weiterentwickelt. 2013 erschien mit „I’m Not Right“ das erste Album der Clowns, 2015 dann „Bad Blood“ und 2016 wurde allmählich auch in Europa von ihnen Notiz genommen, als This Charming Man Records die 2015er-Platte hierzulande auflegte. Durch diverse Touren und spätestens seit dem dritten Album „Lucid Again“ gibt es kein Halten mehr: eine gesunde Mischung zwischen Hardcore-Punk und Psychedelic und extrem mitreißende Live-Shows. Jetzt bei Fat Wreck Chords sind die Australier regelmäßig auf Tour und absolut sehenswert. Lohnt sich! SickBoyz SickBoyz!? Sind live eine recht gute Anlaufstelle für Menschen, die sich zur Gitarrenbegleitung gerne anschreien lassen. Für die meisten Karlsruher ohnehin nicht unbekannt und endlich wieder auf der Bühne mit neuen Songs im Gepäck. Hochenergetische Liveshows gepaart mit kompromissloser Dynamik machen jedes Konzert der Band zu einem Erlebnis. Fans von The Bronx, John Coffey, Clowns und Konsorten kommen voll auf ihre Kosten!  E.Fud Rickie Lee Jones played acoustic guitar and grand piano and was unaccompanied. She opened with a cover of the Rolling Stones song “dialogue with the devil”, she then followed that with a song called “ugly man” which clearly references Trump. She talked about her voice not being up to snuff that evening; she was perhaps a bit under the weather or had been touring so much her voice was fatigued. She also thanked the audience for being with her over these years and said that she as a music fan herself for other artists’ songs knows that as a fan you take their songs, their catalog, into your heart and love them deeply and make them part of your life, and she knew that the folks in the audience connected with her music in a similar way, and she was very eloquent and spoke with such heart and gratitude. Patty spoke of being invited to make a gospel record back when she knew nothing about gospel music and she decided to do it, and she spoke at length of her mother who passed away, how their relationship had classic up and downs, but that at the end it was all love. She said that her mom was from a large family, born in 1931, and worked in the woods as a teenager so that she could have enough money to pay for her high school, and that she was the only female in her family to get to graduate from high school, she went on to have seven children; Patti said her mom noticed that the birds she loved so much were decimated: that there were species She no longer saw for many years. Patio also said that was her favorite Super Bowl ever and that it was a bit risky to say so because she comes from New England, and she also said she absolutely loved the halftime show by Bad Bunny as It was phenomenal.
