 Andy Nicholson A good location in fine weather. Facilities ok. Support acts were a little underwhelming and should consider a cover or two in their set to warm up the audience.  Gracie Byrd Back in the day 1970-73, Bruce and what was then called The Bruce Springsteen Band (including Stevie Zandt, Gary Tallent), used to play regionally along the East Coast. (Southside Johnny was the band’s roadie sometimes.) Because of the overwhelming support by Springsteen fans, Richmond, Va was a frequented location. They played at several venues, one of which was The Backdoor on Grace St. The door charge was 50¢ - yes, 50¢. We went every.single.time they played - which was usually on Friday and Saturday night 1x/month. One of those times, they played on a Sunday afternoon at The Persian Room.
