Too much confusion and mass chaos. Former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry's idea to rival the New Year's Eve Celebration hosted in New York City. Not so. While the Godfather of Soul was onstage pounding out his new single "Living In America", D.C. Police arrested eleven persons for disorderly conduct, and 18-year-old Elaine Anissa Vaughn was found strangled to death in a stairwell of the Old Post Office Pavilion the next morning by a clean-up crew. Happy New Year 1986.

Although I listened to them and had a few of their albums back in the day so to speak, I didn't have the opportunity to see them in concert until August 12th, 1995 when they headlined and had Fleetwood Mac and Pat Benatar as openers. In April 2023, I'm seeing REO in Birmingham, Alabama. It'll be my 7th time seeing them live./ They're an excellent live band.

According to multiple newspaper reports at the time, the crowd at the Pennsylvania Jam was estimated to be between 40-50k folks. The following year and about a month after I graduated from High School after moving to Georgia, Uncle Ted headlined the Georgia Jam at the Road Atlanta race track on July 4th, 1980. I was at that show too. With him were Molly Hatchet, Def Leppard, Pat Travers and the Scorpions. When it was time for Nugent to take the stage, he was lowered down on a rope ladder from a helicopter that had been circling the crowd overhead for awhile. It was an incredible sight to witness!

A Memory still fresh to this day, Pink Floyd playing live with all the theatrical elements that made them the band they were. The standout for me was David Gilmore showing his skill with slide guitar. A fantastic concert and a lifetime ambition fulfilled.

This was technically the first concert I ever saw, I was born in 1980. I went with my mom. What is super weird is that August 27th would be significant to me because as an adult in 2006 this would be the day I would get married, and coincidentally also my now ex-husband was bornAugust 27th, 1981. So this date would be my first concert & my future ex husband's birthday/my wedding day!! How strange!!!

@Concert Archives 3 - Hey, that's an amazing video that you added there but it should actiually be posted to a different show. This is the Toronto show. I beleive that video was taken from the show in Ottawa on the following night.

I hurt my ankle the day before and had a boot and crutches and came to the concert. We were upgraded to ADA and had the best seats. We met so many band members because they all came out and hung out in front of us to watch the bands.

Literally the worst show I've ever seen. Travelled 3 hours only to find out that we'd not been notified that BVB cancelled. The crowd was awful, and while we like both other bands, their sets just weren't great that night. If I could go back in time and avoid going to this show, I would. Plus side, the other people in line were very nice, and after the show my brother and I found a 24-hour cafe and stayed there all night.

honestly i dont rate music festivals because attending them is tiring and i dont have the attention span for a big amount of artists on one day. but honestly i got good memories from joyland lol... it was my first time attending live music for free and i wasnt dehydrated at all because it had a water station where you could refill your tumbler. i think thats their unique selling point. event organisers should realise that keeping their audience hydrated is SO important. im just saying that because i think lots of them dont realise that yet... they have this ridiculous rule where they dont allow people bring their drinks (just so they have to purchase the drinks they sell at the venue (disgusting capitalism at its finest). it was a strategic venue too because it was near the train station (i had fun walking to there at night listening to alpha zulu). they kept the fields clean all the time so it was comfortable....
