Tim McAleer I remember going to this concert. One of many concerts at this venue and many shows of The Cars. The Cars performed their songs from the first album and stayed to numerous standing Ovations. Foreigner started their show extremely late and the crowd was calling for the Cars to return. In fact, Foreigner almost blew the show completely being so late. Everyone left being a Cars fan after that show. Foreigner / The Cars Jul 03, 2026

Bill Mair Bruce Cockburn performed at the Festival Theatre in Stratford, Ontario, on July 3, 1978. His appearance was part of an expanded summer music program at the Stratford Festival that season, which also featured performances by Dan Hill, Liona Boyd, and Oscar Peterson Specific critical reviews of Bruce Cockburn's July 3, 1978 concert at the Stratford Festival Theatre are not widely available in public digital archives. However, historical context and contemporary media indicate that his appearance during this era was celebrated for his masterful, intricate guitar work and his seamless blend of folk and jazz-influenced rock. This 1978 performance fell squarely during one of Cockburn's most creatively fertile periods. At the time, he was touring behind his acclaimed album Further Adventures of Bruce Cockburn, which had been released earlier that year in 1978. Fans and reviewers of his shows from this era consistently highlighted his ability to captivate audiences with his solo and small-ensemble acoustic arrangements, laying the groundwork for his massive international hit "Wondering Where the Lions Are" just one year later.  Andy Johnson Deep Purple played downstairs, Slade played upstairs at venue. Concert was advertised on Radio Luxembourg and people came from many miles away. All tickets were sold but the Social Secretary allowed people to attend the gig, paying cash which he pocketed and disappeared with the proceeds. Deep Purple Jul 03, 2026
