 penny5684 Sad that Lee Loughnane is the only original member left. Their sound (arrangements) is very different and many of the regular supporting musicians were also different.  Blanca Ortiz de Pablo Ernie Orts, Saxo tenor Juan Carlos Buchán, Contrabaix Carlos Falanga, Bateria Ernie Orts Jazz Trio, és un grup que neix amb la intenció de revisar els clàssics del Jazz, el Swing i la Bossa Nova i dotar-los d'un caràcter contemporani, sempre d'acord amb la tradició. Per això Ernie Orts ha recorregut al baterista Carlos Falanga, un constant de l'escena jazzística de Barcelona, i a Juan Carlos Buchán, contrabaixista multifacètic especialitzat en musiques del món... Entre tots tres sumen més d'un quart de segle d'experiència professional amb presència als principals fòrums i espais culturals, tant de Catalunya com dins Espanya i la resta d'Europa. Després d'una època cultivant el Latin i el Funk al seu quartet amb baix elèctric, aquesta nova formació explora de nou el terreny del Jazz des de la tradició Hard Bop fins a referents contemporanis, alternant composicions originals amb adaptacions de temes de David Liebman o Michael Brecker. Ernie Orts ha editat diversos discos com a líder i ha escrit, entre altres composicions, About Coltrane (Demestres, 2010). Aluap (Omix, 2003) va ser la irrupció del seu grup al panorama discogràfic jazzístic (“Tot un desplegament de grooves, estils i gust musical. Un disc on no hi cap la monotonia”; “Fraseig poderós als marges de la línia coltraniana”). Després vindria Wait Walking (2008), i, a partir d'aquí, un conjunt de col·laboracions en discos i directes, amb músics i bandes com R.
