Jack the Mack Also, the Hooters were booed off the stage since they were half done their set when we all piled in, due to the early start. Inauspicious start for a really good Philly band, but they survived and were able to thrive later on. The Who / The Clash / Santana / The Hooters May 20, 2025
Jack the Mack My 2nd concert, I was 20, foot loose and carefree and loving the simple life we had back then, sans the cell phones, I Pads, Tablets, internet etc. I was a big Who freak but loved the Clash and dug Santana, who was really good. The Who put on a great show as usual, but the Clash seemed hurried and not in sync as a group, they soon deteriorated as a group. I remember it was warm for late Sept, maybe high 70s, to 80 with humidity, not unusual for the Northeast. And the whole shows cost 16.50, I have the ticket stub on my hard drive somewhere. You cant even feed yourself for that amount today at the show, although we ate little, had breakfast at home then drank copious amounts of beer, grain alcohol, booze and a little weed, fun times. And made out with my ex girlfriend at the top of the stand during Long Live Rock. Also remember the show was rushed, all groups came out maybe 2 hours earlier than advertised which may have had to do with the previous days' show being cancelled. The groups needed to get moving to the next show I guess. Overall a great day, even if my bud got lost from us looking for an aspirin, and was found about 8 O'clock on the hood of my 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger! lol The Who / The Clash / Santana / The Hooters May 20, 2025

Brucefan24 SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN Funeral for legendary Wall Street trader John Mulheren, who Bruce and Patti had known since the 1960s. John Mulheren's sister (Patti Mulheren Skinner) had been the lead singer from 1968-1970 in Gross National Product, a band that had performed at gigs alongside early Springsteen outfits The Castiles and Earth. At the request of John's widow, Bruce performed a solo, acoustic rendition of "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town". Nils Lofgren also performed.
