TheFakeItalian This was on their 2006/2007 world tour. Have seen them live many a time, but felt this gig was a bit lacklustre. It felt like a warm up gig in readiness for their Hyde Park concert. The Who / The Zutons / Never The Bride Apr 21, 2026

Mmiskelly I was 15 years old and my conservative Dad was annoyed by the hoopla surrendering Ice T and forbade me to go when he found out he was playing. Um ok Dad….even more reason to go! Lollapalooza '91 Apr 21, 2026

Martin Delaney Unfortunately lead singer Biff Smith was really struggling with some form of the dreaded lurgy and it really showed on some songs. But fair play to him and the band for getting through the gig in any case. They adjusted the set as they went along and did the best they could in the circumstances. I think was the fifth time I have seen them which was testament to how good they are, in normal circumstances. The interests started when I saw them in the tremendous theatre show The Dark Carnival and followed them ever since. A New International / Caro Bridges Apr 21, 2026
Martin Delaney What a voice! Had seen Alfie live before in the Les Mis arena tour. Wasn't sure what to expect with his own stuff but new material is very strong. Possibly would have liked a little more of the musical theatre tunes. We did get Bring Him Home though and a solo Alfie vocal near the end of the show. This format allowed Alfie to be a bit more playful and there was plenty of interaction with the audience. I think all tracks on the new album 'Face Myself' were played tonight along with a handful of covers. The band were top notch and very glad I went along to see this. Bought the CD and got it signed by Alfie after the gig. Just so you know he is signing items bought from the merch stand and will have a brief chat but no selfies or touching are allowed. Support artist Jessica Sweetman was good but as with all guitar/vocal duos lacked a bit oomph for me. Alfie Boe / Jessica Sweetman Apr 21, 2026
Martin Delaney Although Rush are certified Rock Legends it's easy to forget just how many great tunes they have released over the years. Probably makes it hard to choose songs for a setlist. A fair chunk was taken up by the full 2112 album, this tour being a celebration of 50 years of 2112. Moving Pictures are playing small and large venues all over the UK and further afield and deservedly so as they faithfully reproduce all of those well known Rush tunes as well as deep cuts, no easy task for any band. Massive thanks to guitarist Steven Brown for getting me on the guest list as would have had to miss out on this sold out gig otherwise. Moving Pictures (UK) Apr 21, 2026
