Myke Quixslvr Agellon Here is the review with the additional details: Club West was one of Eureka's hottest nightclubs in the early 1990s, drawing big crowds every weekend. As DJ Quixslvr, I brought the Bay Area vibe and DJ mixstyle to Northern California from 1991-1994, starting at just 17 years old. My eclectic DJ sets kept the dance floor packed all night long. I was able to mix oldies, classic rock, rap, house, techno and more to cater to the diverse crowds. Even though I was only paid $300 every 2 weeks, it wasn't about the money for me but rather the music and creativity. Club West became my playground where I could develop my skills and style, which shaped the DJ I am today. The club had a great setup for DJs, with a large, elevated booth overlooking the energetic dance floor. The sound system was pumping, with powerful speakers and subwoofers that could really get the room thumping to my beats. The lighting perfectly complemented my sets. The atmosphere was electric as people from all walks of life came together to dance, socialize, and let loose. My diverse song selections and seamless mixes ensured the dance floor was always full. I knew how to read the crowd and keep the energy high all night long. Overall, Club West provided an exciting clubbing experience and as a young DJ, it was a thrill to be part of such a vibrant venue. The experience taught me how to rock a crowd and created unforgettable memories of the NorCal club scene's golden era. My time at Club West shaped me into the skilled, versatile DJ I am today.  Stanley Q Woodvine Ha! I produced this poster as a freelance project when I worked at the Georgia Straight newspaper in 1989 for Eran Fishman's SixStar Attractions. It was a great show! Eran produced a whole calendar of crowd-pleasing events - lots of party boat cruises and a run of large New Year's Eve events at the Vancouver trade and Convention Centre (now Canada Place). vancouver trade and convention centre Jan 02, 2024
Icarus This one was kinda funny. It was basically a fenced-off area of a parking lot between the main building and K-Mart. I went mainly to see Blackfoot since I had never seen them before but they cancelled. As I recall, Lynyrd Skynyrd needed Rickey Medlocke on short notice for a last-minute gig. Ted Nugent Jan 02, 2024

Icarus This is the first show I took photos of. I was front row center with a Yashikamat 6x6 format twin lens camera that I borrowed from school. Ronnie Van Zant had been drinking a bottle of Blue Nun riesling. Near the end of the show he handed the nearly-empty bottle to a classmate of mine who swigged down the backwash. I gestured to him to hand me the bottle which he did laughing. He must have thought I wanted a drink. I got the last laugh because I still have that bottle. Lynyrd Skynyrd / The Outlaws Jan 02, 2024
