 Jason Worthley [show #130] The lead singer of Mammothor reminded me of Eric Christian Olsen, only muscular, but he had some pipes on him and a friendly stage attitude, which I liked although it wasn't my kind of music. Palisades were pretty cool, almost reminded me of All That Remains, but not as heavy. A couple of the guys looked like GQ models. Jonathan's set was great. A lot mellower than Korn but some heavy riffs and vocals throne in. It was awesome to see him play some of the tracks from Queen of the Damned again. Finally! And it's always great to see his smile. How he loves being up there for his fans. And having Korn drummer, Ray Luzier join the tour was a smart move. Ray is AMAZING! Watching him flip his stick and catch it between beats was mesmerizing.  Jason Worthley [show #129] My first concert going by myself and though I almost talked myself out of it, I'm glad I didn't. I finally got to see Ministry and boy did they deliver. From the moment Al Jorgensen belted out the first few lyrics, I knew it was going to rock. To make it even more memorable, the band was truly an all-star lineup, with DJ Swamp of The Crystal Method and Beck, Joey Jordison of Slipknot, Tony Campos and Burton C. Bell (GOD, IT WAS AWESOME TO SEE HIM AGAIN!!) of Fear Factory, it just added to the awesomeness. The show opened with The God Bombs from NY. I kind of felt like they were a heavier version of Orgy without the glam look. I liked them. Had they gone on later, I think the crowd would have been moving. Then Chelsea Wolfe came out in her platform heal boots, with their slow and crunchy riffs underlying her soft, melodic vocals, you couldn't help but just stare and enjoy the show. My first time at Aura (formerly the Asylum) since it opened. It was nice. Small. I think they should move the sound equipment out back and expand the floor to allow bigger talent in. but overall, the acoustics were great! Ministry / Chelsea Wolfe / The God Bombs Dec 05, 2023
 Jason Worthley [show #128] Been off the concert kick for some time now but this was a good one to come back to. A surprise invite by an old former classmate took me back to Worcester. I have no complaints over any of the bands, they were all great. Fit for an Autopsy reminded me of Hatebreed. While She Sleeps had a lot of energy and I loved how they put the security to work by asking everyone to crowd surf up to the stage (on that note, security was on point that night. I don't say that often, but these guys were great--and I have seen some assholes in my day). Trivium was obviously a fan favorite due to their New England ties, and we nearly got sucked into the moshpit.  Jason Worthley [show #126] I almost ended up not going to this show but I am glad I did. Death Angel rocked. It was the first time I have seen them, and it is great to see bands I grew into my metal phase with still kicking. They played a very short set though and the sound in the State Theater is not so great so it was hard to hear the singing, but I did recognize "Mistress of Pain." Testament kicked ass too. They all looked great. Their sound was much the same as Death Angel but I picked up on the classics I knew. Chuck Billy had a cordless mike on a two foot post that he kept playing as a guitar. Later there was a green light inside so it kinda looked like a light saber. They played an extra long set for some reason. I think Anthrax was running a bit late. That sucked because we had to work in the morning, and the girls had school and we thought it'd be an early night. Anthrax came on at 10:15 so we did at least get to see 45 min of them, a few classics like "Among the Living", "Caught in a Mosh", and "AntiSocial", and a few newer songs. They sounded great.  Jason Worthley [show #124] This was not only the first time I ever got to see Machine Head live (they have never been to Portland and only been to Maine once), this was supposed to be the first show my friend Todd Bennett and I went to together in years. Unfortunately his work made him work late that night. However, I did get to put another show under the belt with me and Jolene, so that's always cool. The place wasn't packed at all, it was quite depressing. Hopefully Machine Head decide to try again with better supporting acts. Darkest Hour was pretty good. Suicide Silence was way to screamy, and when the singer told everyone to serve up to him for a handshake (ode to Five Finger Death Punch), the dummy walked away to sing his song while security worked overtime for nothing and barely anyone got a handshake! Machine Head rocked though.  Jason Worthley [show #123] We almost didn't go to this show but decided on the day to go on up. It was so cold waiting in line and it wasn't that warm inside either. I hate winter! We sat next to Don Williamson and his gf. Rains was okay. It was supposed to be Rev Theory, I don't know what happened there. Hatebreed kicked ass as always. They were the main reason I wanted to go and I was not disappointed at all. All That Remains was good. The crowd always likes them. And Five Finger Death Punch were great as well. At one point the singer took about five young kids up on stage with their parents and did a song with them rocking out out back. One redheaded kid was cracking us up (simulating singing/air guitar and at one point did the robot :) ). Then during another song the singer told the security that "this is where you earn your paycheck" and told everyone to crowd serve up to the front to shake his hand. It was like a tsunami of bodies coming over the rail and the security was working overtime. It was nuts but cool to watch. The singer had to stop singing to remind everyone to keep moving and not stay there cause they are making it hard for everyone else. Good show!!  Jason Worthley [show #122] Well, I'll start off by saying I was quite disappointed from the start. I bought a ticket for my nephew, this would be his first big metal show, then he got picked to go to summer camp so I threw 70 bucks away there. It was over 100 degrees which made it uncomfortable. Our seats weren't as close as I thought they'd be. Meagan wasn't really into it. And the main reason I went was to FINALLY see Machine Head and as my luck would have it, this was the first show of the tour that they weren't on the main stage, so while I was waiting in line to go there...they were playing on the second stage. But, highlights...It's always good to see Megadeth. I respect those guys. They seem to still love the fans after all this time, and they are not so full of themselves that they complain about not headlining. One lucky fan won a WAAF contest where he got to walk on stage and take the guitar right off Dave Mustaine's body. LUCKY SH**!! Godsmack, though I've lost interest in them over the years, really rocked. Disturbed was good as usual, but for some reason he skips certain words in his songs.  Jason Worthley [show #121] This was my first show since the State Theater opened back up and what better way than with another Jager tour? :) I missed Uncle Jack (the winners of the Bone contest) because the asses put them on an hour before the show as people were just walking in. What a jip. But The Damned Things were pretty good and it was great to see the man, Scott Ian again. It's been ages. All That Remains had a great set and got the people rocking. Their bassist has some lungs on her also. One of their road crew came out and proposed to his g/f Awwwwe! :) Hellyeah kicked ass and there was no doubt about that happening. Some bands just never disappoint. And though I'm not a big Buckcherry fan, they are a pretty good rock band, kept the place moving till the end. Good show!  Jason Worthley [show #119] I was quite disappointed with The Station here. The overhead lights weren't working so I couldn't record any video or take many pics due to the only light being behind the drummer. Devine & Conquer were great. Very talented group of young guys. I didn't really care for Salvo and Shallow Path, one was too death metalish, the other too screamy. Marble did great as always but only played for about 30 min.  Jason Worthley [show #116] It's good to see the crowds starting to mosh a bit for Dom and the band. I hang back a bit, I guess I feel weird moshing with just a couple guys (whom I don't know). But their set was good, but just wish these shows would start earlier...on time would be good even. Erica and Ashley showed up but they missed The Marble Socket cause they had to get home to bed cause they worked in the am. Another Lesson Learned was pretty good, I think I'm going to pick up their CD when I see it. Blood Red Thrust had a 16 yr old singer and boy did he have some pipes on him.  Jason Worthley [show #113] My ONLY reason for going to this show was the reuniting of Fear Factory. It was great to see them again in such an up close and personal setting. My first time going to the Port City Music Hall, nice little place. Hopefully they start headlining again soon. I knocked knuckles with Dino and slapped him 5. Thy Will Be Done was cool. The sound was great and the lead guitarist kicked ass. Burton singled me out when he was trying to get everyone to clap to the beat before starting the intro to "Reign in Blood" by Slayer. Pointing, he said, "I'm talking to you" :) Oops, sorry dude, I was telling Matt something. Silent Civilian was good also, nice rocking beats. I do really like All That Remains.  Jason Worthley [show #108] The lead singer of Marble Socket is a buddy/coworker of mine, Dominick. This was my first time seeing them live and I was impressed. I liked them alot. Dom's got a set of lungs on him I'll tell ya. Spawn of Man was OK.  Jason Worthley [show #106] What a great show. The Pietasters was a 3 piece band with 2 guitarists (one of which is the singer) and a bass player (the big stand up basses). They looked and sounded like they were straight out of the 50's. They were actually pretty good. Catch 22 had the crowd going wild, they were quite exciting. The Bosstones were great. I've never seen the Hampton Beach Casino so packed, and I've NEVER seen so much positive energy and dancing go on for so long before. The group was just great all around, shook hands throughout the set, pulled people up on stage to dance a bit. Stole a Yankee hat and tossed it to the side :). I can't wait to see them again.  Jason Worthley Hellzapoppin' Sideshow[show #105] I was mostly there to see Static X and Black Label. BL was great, Zack can really wail on that guitar. I was a bit disappointed that Static X didn't play longer though. I didn't like Suicide Silence and felt jipped that Dope and Bury Your Dead wasn't even there. I'm not much into Mudvayne anymore but I hung around for a bit. I ditched Jen cause of her new boyfriend (you're welcome by the way), probably be the last for us, and I hung out with Terry and some guys that work at Shaws. I met Disturbed and Killswitch and got their autographs. :) Lacuna Coil was pretty good, the crowd responded well. Chimaira seemed a bit heavy for this lineup but they were still good.  Jason Worthley [show #102] This was a really good show. It was nice to be able to sit and watch something like that and though it was acoustic, it still rocked. Godhead put on a good show. I don't think I ever heard them really; non-acoustic but this set was great. I didn't really care for Shenkar, he opened up with a good one I guess but his voice just got annoying. I think he did some work on the "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack with Jonathan. He also played violin for Jonathan's set but his violin was turned up way too high. Jonathan's set was great; he sat in a tall wooden chair with lion's heads carved in the arm-rests and red velvet cushions. He played the entire "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack, some modified versions of a few Korn songs, Neil Diamond's "Love on the Rocks", New Order's "Blue Monday", and Duran Duran's "The Chauffer". He even mentioned Head ("My boy, Head) when talking about when he wrote a song and showed love for the guy. It was good to know there's no bad blood between them.
