Brucefan24 A press conference was held before the concert, in which John Lennon’s controversial comments that The Beatles were “more popular than Jesus” once again dominated proceedings. He repeated the remark once again but, unlike at prior press conferences on the tour, chose not to apologise. The Beatles / The Remains / Bobby Hebb / The Cyrkle / The Ronettes Nov 20, 2025

Brucefan24 This was the second day of orchestral rehearsals for ‘All You Need Is Love’, ahead of the worldwide satellite broadcast Our World on 25 June 1967. Beforehand, from 2-4pm, a press call took place at Abbey Road, with numerous reporters and photographers being invited in through the normally closed doors. The session took place from 5-8pm. The musicians were: Sidney Sax, Patrick Halling, Eric Bowie and Jack Holmes (violin); Rex Morris and Don Honeywill (tenor saxophone); Evan Watkins and Harry Spain (trombone); Jack Emblow (accordion); and Stanley Woods and David Mason (trumpet). Stanley Woods also played flügelhorn on the recording. The BBC camera crew, directed by Derek Burrell-Davis, was also present. Camera angles were decided upon, as was the positioning of The Beatles and the orchestra during the broadcast. In the evening four more rehearsal takes were recorded. These were numbered 44-47, and took place during a simultaneous reduction mix. Credit: Beatles Bible The Beatles Nov 20, 2025
