Steve Burel Dreggs came out first and killing it rocking out the crowd, Jerry on violin just great. 3rd time seeing Santana, he came out and was playing every instrument except guitar, very casual. Finally he asked Steve and Jerry to come out and help with Black Majic Woman. Jerry first break and killed it doing everything Santana was not, Steve next and also killed it, I remember Carlos looking at them and bowing his head as he took the next break and he murdered it, They watch in awe.  stephenhuerta 11/11/2025: It just dawned on me this morning, that I saw Martin Pugh in Visalia, at the Lamp lighter Inn Bar. Keep in mind , this was a long time ago. I don’t recall the date and year, so August 01, 1994 is as close as I can remember. Honestly, I’m guessing. But there’s a story here. First of all, I forget how I got wind of this show. I don’t recall any flyers or radio ads. My friend Tomas may have mentioned it to me. He was a local musician who enjoyed playing and jamming with local and touring blues bands. But I went to see the Martin Pugh Band, little did I know it was the same Martin Pugh from the British heavy Prog band Steamhammer, and later on with Armageddon, a heavy British Prog band. Turns out Martin was living in Three Rivers at the time, a small town on the 198, going towards The Sequoias. During the break, I introduced myself, and we started talking. He told me who he was, where he was from, and that he was the guitarist for the British bands Steamhammer and Armageddon, I was surprised! Being the British Prog bands admirer that I was. We spoke for quite awhile. I started asking about Armageddon, asking what happened and why wasn’t there a second album released. I had already known that Keith Relf had already passed away. We talked, and he shared a truly sad story regarding Keith. First and foremost, he said “yes”, Armageddon did record a second album, but it lacked Keith Relf’s vocals. He went on to tell me that Keith had suffered a heart attack at his home. Apparently he had gotten up from sleeping, went into his kitchen and sat down, where his heart gave out. The saddest part of the story was Keith’s youngest daughter walked in on him in the morning, and he was already deceased. I can only imagine how heartbroken his daughter must have felt. Martin wholeheartedly shared that story with me. He said that after Keith’s passing the record label shelved the project , without Keith’s vocals, the album was never released We quickly changed the subject, I asked him if he would be sign my Armageddon album, and with a smile he said “yes”. So after the next set, I quickly jumped in my car , drove to my house, grabbed my Armageddon album, and quickly returned to the Lamp Lighter Inn, where he signed my album, to this day, I still have that album. Here it is, November 2025, and I’m sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee when the Martin Pugh Band came to mind. I added this to my Concert Archives/Chronicles just this morning. All the above is a true story , and I’m glad I recalled it this morning. It made my day. I forgot to mention , Martin told me he was good friends of Carl Palmer, who would visit him on occasion. He also told me that he was going to be at an event in DT Visalia the following month I went to the event looking for him, but I never saw him. Trust me, looked. That’s my Martin Pugh story, and proud of it. Martin Pugh Band Nov 11, 2025
