Georges A. Gauthier The @ruralalberta Are Consistently awesome. I enjoyed Nils’ little glimpses into the lyrics. But there was something extra special in the sauce tonight. In 15 years, across many shows, this was my favourite. The Rural Alberta Advantage / Julia Riolino Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier 3rd time’s the charm. Erin finally got the Karkwa experience I wanted for her. Having seen them at MTelus together & my catching them in Brussels in the Fall, we now saw them at Le Club Dix30 up close & personal & it was fantastic. Karkwa / Blesse Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Blesse opened for Karkwa and I was pleasantly suprised with their songs and energy. A good local band with prospects. Karkwa / Blesse Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier I first came across Jesse Mac Cormack at the folk fest 12 years ago. Yet no guitars in sight at his club-like electronic set at Ritz. It wasn’t a compete surprise, knowing his work as a producer, but it was unexpected. Although not at all unwelcome Jesse Mac Cormack / Kaya Hoax Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Last Dinner Party was good but they aren’t the arena band they strive to be just yet. Their sound is still flimsy and lacks resonance live. They have rest rest: power moves, costumes and anthems at the ready The Last Dinner Party / Miss Grit Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Dan Boekner has been around: Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Operators, Divine Fits. Last night I heard him launch his new eponymous band. An unexpected treat, after his set of new music he dug into his back catalogue and reminded me (us) of our 20 year love affair with his rock. Dan Boeckner Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier You can be in love with an idea. Add a face or, in this case, a voice & the manifested idea is Feist. I love her music, her performance, her voice. I don’t know Leslie, but I’m in love with the idea of Feist. Sarah McLaughlan / Feist Oct 12, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier I’ve seen Sarah McLaughlin before. But I don’t remember when? Her voice remains a national treasure, her ballad’s beautiful. But appart from a transcendent version of “Fear” I was unmoved by nostalgia for this bygone pop icon. I guess that’s why I forget. Sarah McLaughlan / Feist Oct 12, 2025
