 niusteve "Chicago 1971" is a musical storytelling project and band created by Scottish-born musicians John Ballantyne and Gus Noble. The show recounts a famous night in the summer of 1971 in Chicago. Singer-songwriter Steve Goodman was opening for Kris Kristofferson at the club Quiet Knight. Goodman encouraged Kristofferson (along with guests like Paul Anka and Samantha Eggar) to see his friend John Prine perform at The Earl of Old Town, which launched Prine's career. (_BREAK HERE_) I attended your 10-17-2026, Bons Secours Wellness Arena Concert in Greenville, SC; I and my step-son, Brandon Bryson, were seated in Row K in seats 19 & 20; my step-daughter, Adrienne Johns, and her husband, Joey Johns, were in Row K in seats 3 & 4. Their mother, my late wife, Judy Funk, is their mother in Heaven now, and their lives have recently been tumultuous, yet God has been working through their chaos! Praise God!!! (_BREAK HERE_) At the Concert that night, you spoke about "Compassion" (in 29 Countries), and that Ministry was for supporting a child. (_BREAK HERE_) I signed up for a child for $50 monthly to provide for his support plus Birthday and Christmas, and I intend to give another $50 toward a general-purpose fund. But God is going to exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or imagine beyond what I have just committed to in those words. I assure you of that!!! (_BREAK HERE_) Brandon also wants to give $100 per month toward the care of 2 children, and yet his paperwork didn't get completed well given the time and the lighting whilst the Concert had begun already. I left you with my FlipPhone phone number on each form for you to contact me about Compassion Ministry. (_BREAK HERE_) I use my flip phone for talking and texting, but my Smart Phone for forms and documents, up/downloads, and for Internet, and for recordings. (_BREAK HERE_) I want you to know that I am moved to help your cause, and I will do all I can to help!!! (_BREAK HERE_) Now, as for the Concert, first and foremost - you were TREMENDOUS!!! It was a powerful Concert experience, and your openers also did a very awesome performance!!! let them know that I said so!!! (_BREAK HERE_)We had walked in late, as we were stuck in a long line of traffic that didn't barely move, and then we needed to locate open parking that was within the $20 cash we had between all of us. We walked in during your first opening act, and I was the man with the long hair, if you noticed me - that is the token of my own personal Covenant with the Lord that, as long as I remain separated unto Him, I would not let the locks of my head be cut. I made that Covenant in August of 1997, and I have not even trimmed my hair - not even once was it cut - since that time even until now!!! I AM GOD'S AND GOD'S ALONE!!!!!! (_BREAK HERE_) My hopes were to bring my step-children, whom I will refer to as my son and my daughter and her husband, hereinafter, so that their lives would be deeply affected by the Lord through your Ministry, and God and you didn't let me down!!! (_BREAK HERE_) I am now going to give you some personal information: (_BREAK HERE_) Brandon has been self-medicating with Kratom and pot, and with lots of beer on a daily basis, and yet, he has been getting closer to God recently as he has allowed me to minister to him. It took him awhile to become open to receive from me after the death of his mother on 9/19/2024. He is coming around slowly. Brandon has been labeled "Special Needs", but they dumbed him down to that mold, and they failed to teach him to the level of his aptitude! He is a fairly intelligent young man of almost 32 years of age. (_BREAK HERE_) Brandon believes in Jesus Christ, but he has not surrendered his life to live unto the Lord. While at the Concert, he was touched deeply and on the way home, I told him, "I love you, son", and he said, "I love you too, Dad" as I shook his hand and held it for a few seconds, and he did something he has never done before: he kissed the back of my hand! (TEARS!!!) (_BREAK HERE_) He then let me lead him in a prayer - after he had already prayed the sinner's prayer you had led all of us to pray (THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT!!!), whilst I held his hand, and I led him to invite the Holy Spirit to come into his body and heart and to impart to him the gift of tongues. He prayed the prayer sincerely!!! (_BREAK HERE_) THAT WAS A MILESTONE - AND I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR MINISTRY TO HIM TO BRING THAT TO PASS!!! (_BREAK HERE_) AS FOR ADRIENNE AND JOEY, JOEY DESERTED ADRIENNE AND THEIR 2 CHILDREN, ABBY 6, AND JAY 3, ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. SHE HAS BEEN THE CUSTODIAL PARENT AND HAS MANAGED EVERYTHING IN THE HOME AND FOR THE FAMILY UNIT OF 3 EVER SINCE. BUT SHE HAS BEEN PRESSING INTO GOD AS A CHOSEN ONE AND HAS GROWN IMMENSELY IN 5 MONTHS AS A BELIEVER IN CHRIST. (PRAISE THE LORD GOD!!!) (_BREAK HERE_) JESUS HAS BEEN DEALING WITH JOEY, WHO HAS STILL BEEN ATTENDING CHURCH AT FOOTHILLS CHURCH IN SENECA, SC., ON OCCASION, EVEN AFTER HE LEFT, BUT THERE HAS NOT BEEN MUCH COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THEM AS A MARRIED COUPLE. BUT ADRIENNE RECENTLY LEARNED THAT, FOR YEARS, JOEY WAS INVESTED IN AN INFIDELITY-BOUND RELATIONSHIP TO GET EVEN WITH A FORMER GIRLFRIEND THAT HAD FORSAKEN HIM, IN ORDER THAT HE COULD GET EVEN WITH HER AND HURT HER. HE HAD VENGEANCE IN HIS HEART, AND HE WAS STILL SOUL-TIED TO HER. HE ADMITTED THAT TO ADRIENNE, AND SINCE THEN, SHE HAS HAD TRUST ISSUES THAT SHE HASN'T BEEN SURE THAT SHE WOULD EVEN TAKE HIM BACK IF PRESENTED WITH THE CHANCE, BECAUSE THEY WERE MARRIED FOR 7 YEARS AND DATED 2 MORE YEARS PRIOR TO THAT, ALL THE WHILE THAT HE WAS TIED TO THIS OTHER WOMAN. (_BREAK HERE_) JOEY HAS BEEN LIVING WITH HIS MOTHER, AND HE HAS SPARSELY SEEN THE KIDS ON DAYS OFF FROM HIS JOB. (_BREAK HERE_)I TOLD ADRIENNE THAT GOD IS GOING TO DO SOMETHING AT THIS CONCERT, AND I TOLD HER THAT I BELIEVED GOD WAS GOING TO WORK IN JOEY'S HEART AND HERS AT THIS CONCERT (JOEY PLAYS GUITAR AND IS MUSICALLY INCLINED, AND I INVITED HIM, AND HE WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED BY YOUR MUSIC - AND BY YOU, IN PARTICULAR!!!!) - AS HERE WAS WHAT OCCURRED AFTERWARD THAT i HAD LEARNED YESTERDAY FROM ADRIENNE: (_BREAK HERE_) FIRST OF ALL, WHEN ADRIENNE HAD HER ARMS RAISED, SHE FELT TINGLING IN HER HANDS, AND AT FIRST SHE BLAMED IT ON HER LEFT SHOULDER CUTTING OFF THE CIRCULATION IN HER HAND BUT THEN REALIZED IT WAS THE SAME IN BOTH HANDS - I TOLD HER THAT THAT WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT!!! (_BREAK HERE_) SHE SAID THAT THEY BOTH LOVED THE MUSIC, BUT SHE TOLD ME THIS ABOUT JOEY: (_BREAK HERE_) JOEY SAID THAT, AS SOON AS HE SAW YOU, HE FELT SOMETHING!!! HE SENSED YOU WERE DIFFERENT - HE FELT THE ANOINTING. I RELEASED THE ANOINTING OVER YOU JUST BEFORE THAT, AND OVER THE ENTIRE VENUE, AND WAS SPEAKING IN TONGUES AFTER THAT, AND I FELT THE GLORY COME UPON YOU, AND YOU WERE IN THE FIRST 2 OR 3 MINUTES OF YOUR SIGNING WHEN I HAD DONE THAT. INSTEAD, THEY WENT BACK TO THEIR HOME, WHERE ADRIENNE HAS BEEN ON HER OWN WITH THE KIDS ALL THESE 5 MONTHS, AND HE TALKED WITH HER AND IRONED OUT SOME SIGNIFICANT ISSUES, AND TALKED UNTIL 2:30 IN THE MORNING. IT ENDED WITH A LONG HUG AND A KISS!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE JESUS CHRIST, FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!!!! I AM BLESSED WITH THAT AWARENESS, AND I LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE AND FOR YOUR MINISTRY TO TOUCH US ALL SO GREATLY BY YOUR GENUINE WORSHIP AND FAITH-INSPIRING MUSIC!!!
