Gbauer10 Memorable night! Intense rain and lightning bolts over the Forum. After the show went home, loaded car and took off for Mammoth. Ram Charger with 6 people. Our surf rack with ski’s blew off as soon as we got on 395 so all of our ski’s were inside the car. Did a 450 degree spin went a bit off the road. Hit a patch of black ice halfway there at 70 with cruise control on! Not fun! I’m an experienced snow driver so didn’t panic. After initial spin I Turned into slide and brought the car around 5 times and slowed enough that we barely went off the road. If we had rolled it would have been fatalities for sure! At least my least show would have been a great show by Queen! Queen Jul 12, 2024
Keeples Audio recording I found on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9jpSOiLzqc&t=445s King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard / Leah Senior Jul 12, 2024
Gbauer10 The Thin White Duke was phenomenal! Cracked Actor was especially good this Bowie wearing a cape and crown while “talking” to a skull. I was dead center about 5 rows back. Really great set list! There’s a video on YouTube of his next concert in Vancouver. The Go-Go's / Madness / David Bowie Jul 12, 2024
Gbauer10 No AC/DC was at Long Beach Arena July 12, 1978. I was there! Great show. First time I ever saw wireless guitar when Angus came out of the back of the arena! Aerosmith Jul 12, 2024
Gbauer10 This concert was originally scheduled for earlier in the year. We waited 6 hours in the rain and then they finally rescheduled it. Show was on a be sunny day and was amazing! Fleetwood Mac / Kenny Loggins Jul 12, 2024
Gbauer10 I believe a good part of Kiss Alive 2 was (allegedly) recorded on this night. We had fifth row center and front row was really close to stage. Had never heard of Cheap Trick but they blew us away from the opening notes of Hello There! Actually liked them way better than Kiss! KISS / Cheap Trick Jul 12, 2024

David Scrivner Thanks, corrected to August 1983. It was some time ago… Bucks Fizz Jul 12, 2024
Jeff Newman Not sure who can do it, but Sarah Jaffe was the opener. Can she be added? Metric / Sarah Jaffe Jul 12, 2024
Jeff Newman This is incorrect. Tulsa was supposed to be April 22, but there was a scheduling conflict with his concert on the same date at McFarlin Auditorium in Dallas, TX. This needs to be updated to be McFarlin. Tony Bennett Jul 12, 2024

Gbauer10 Not sure which night this photo is from. Pete Townsend broke a couple of bones in his Han punching a wall earlier in the tour but the show must go on! Had second row for show on 23rd and went again on the 28th. The tickets were the style printed in large scripted lettering. It was really easy to turn the 23 into a 28 and sneak down to better seats. The Who / The Only Ones Jul 12, 2024
Gbauer10 Almost forgot too that Bob Weirs’ neighbor Sammy Hagar dropped by for Loose Lucy too! Dead & Company / Fabulous Negrito Jul 11, 2024
Gbauer10 Incredible night seeing Dead and Company at the Fillmore in a special Pay-It-Forward free concert. Tickets were insanely hard to get and somehow I got 2 online. There was only one other person that we met at the show that got tickets online. Everyone else knew someone or won them. When we first got there there were probably 300 people and when they asked to separate those who had tickets and those that hoped to get a ticket there were only about a dozen that had a real ticket. Of course, Bill Walton was there standing in the back. I didn’t see him but my friend Tyler did. Short night by Dead and Company standards but what a cool place to see them. Being front row didn’t hurt either. Dead & Company / Fabulous Negrito Jul 11, 2024
Gbauer10 I also added a link to my recording on YouTube of that night in the video section Led Zeppelin Jul 11, 2024
Gbauer10 One of my favorite concerts ever. Bought tickets that morning when there was a ticket drop of industry seats that I heard about at midnight the night before. Ten rows off field and five rows back! Guns N’ Roses had gotten into a big onstage fight the night before over Slash’s heroin use and there was speculation that they wouldn’t play but they came out and were incredible. Slash work a Betty Ford Clinic shirt. Then the Stones blew everyone away with an epic set. Of course the highlight was Eric Clapton joining for Little Red Rooster! GnR, Stones, Clapton! What a night! The Rolling Stones / Guns N' Roses / Eric Clapton Jul 11, 2024
Bill Wynn I paid $35 to a scalper outside of the garden great show! The Rolling Stones / Stevie Wonder Jul 11, 2024
Gbauer10 Incredible night of Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the Roxy. Here’s a compilation of songs from that epic night! Neil Young & Crazy Horse Jul 11, 2024
Gbauer10 I was at this epic concert and snuck in a tape recorder. It’s been released and can be found on YouTube under listen to this Erik. There are also Japanese bootlegs circulating they go for over $100 each. This was recorded the same night as Listen to this Eddie!!! but not the same recording. The Japanese bootleg version has the parts that I missed filled in. incredible night, still the best concert I’ve ever seen by far. Both bad and the crowd were on fire.A review of that night and also my recording can be found in this magazine article. https://www.collectorsmusicreviews.com/led-zeppelin/led-zeppelin-listen-to-this-erik-no-label/ Led Zeppelin Jul 11, 2024
