Oddgrim Not sure if all the listed bands played due to the venue change. 2nd Annual GWAR-B-Q Jun 20, 2022
sambetobobmcd Hot as Hades that afternoon. I remember getting there about 30 minutes after the gates opened and they had already run out of food and drinks. They wound up opening all the gates so you could come in and out (no checks or stamps). Everyone packed the infield till there was no room to move. Most of the crowd was very chill, but still kinda hacked off at the lack of food, water, and facilities. By the end of the night the stadium was pretty well torn up, the infield taking the brunt of the hurt. During hurricane Rita when all of Houston tried to evacuate at once, I had crossed over IH-10 near Columbus and the sight of all the standstill cars 4 and 5 deep up and down the frontage roads and freeway with litter ankle high, reminded me of the trashed out / torn up infield at Memorial Stadium that day. Bob McD ZZ Top / Santana / Joe Cocker / Bad Company Jun 20, 2022

Oddgrim Job for a Cowboy and Red Chord were billed but at least Job for a Cowboy did not play. I think Red Chord did, but I don't really remember. There was another, probably local, unknown band that played a few songs. GWAR Jun 20, 2022
Oddgrim Filmed for the "Lust In Space – Live At The National" DVD release. GWAR Jun 20, 2022
Oddgrim Dubbed unofficially as "The Monsoon of Rock". Poured rain through Dokken's set. Scorpions were interrupted by rain and lightning. Crew started tearing down the equipment. Crowd went crazy and the crew set back up. Scorpions came back after an hour or more and finished. Van Halen eventually planed after storms cleared. Many didn't make the show at all due to traffic from the South clogging the tiny rural Maine roads. Luckily we came in from the North. Van Halen / Scorpions / Dokken / Metallica / Kingdom Come Jun 20, 2022
Oddgrim Ace Frehley didn't show. Kane Roberts told me Ace was "sick" and stayed in Boston. Alice Cooper / Faster Pussycat Jun 20, 2022
Oddgrim Alice in Chains was practically booed off the stage. Ignorance of the audience, not because they were not good. Everyone was there for 3 of the Big 4. Megadeth / Slayer / Anthrax / Alice In Chains Jun 19, 2022
Oddgrim Yes, Savatage did not play. Apparently they missed a flight. If I recall correctly, Savatage merch was for sale on the venue floor. Dio / Megadeth Jun 19, 2022
