 Kurt Nielsen Bob’s still got it 🎶 A classical concert calls for attentive listening. So does a Dylan concert. But that’s where the similarities end. A classical orchestra follows a score. Dylan certainly doesn’t. Old songs become new ones. There’s something liberating about these free interpretations. We can always listen to the old versions. He started at precisely 8 pm and finished at 9.37 pm, playing non-stop with the band throughout. The audience, however, weren’t quite running on German time. They kept drifting in and disturbing the proceedings, despite several calls to take their seats. Dylan was part of a fine band: two guitars, bass – mostly double bass – drums, and Bob on keyboards and vocals. We heard beautiful versions of Black Rider and Tangled Up in Blue. There was also an old song from an album I’d almost forgotten: Under the Red Sky. I’ll have to give that another listen. It ended with I Shall Be Released. And so we were. Then a brisk walk back to the hotel, chatting with a Danish couple along the way. Now I’m lying here with a Flensburger Pils, reliving a wonderful concert. Bob’s still got it. Bob Dylan Oct 23, 2026

 SuddenFall Adrian "previewed" some music that later appeared on King Crimson's VROOOM and THRAK after he confirmed he was part of the reformed King Crimson. Needless to say, the crowd went nuts when we heard it. This concert was about two months before Frank Zappa died. When someone in the crowd asked how he was doing, Adrian said he saw him recently, but didn't say too much about how he was doing. My brother and I got the feeling that he probably saw he was getting worse but didn't want to say anything. Anyway, great show, and it was a great venue. I still miss it! Adrian Belew Oct 23, 2026

 Genesis Contreras 2nd time at XS Concert Club. Last minute, since a friend wanted to go, it was Memorial Day weekend, and the clubs are packed on a whole different level. Chaos. Calvin Harris’s songs were super popular, and I was so excited to him. But yet again, didn’t last till his start time of like 1 or 2am, feet hurt, tipsy (from not ever really drinking to like having a few shots, is all it took lol).
