James Anderson 89 I was there. He was BRILLIANT as usual. I was in awe of his prowess and his command of his guitar. I was lucky to have gotten a seat not too far from the front, so I was able to zoom in on his technique. I'm a guitar player myself so I watched closely every position of his hands and how he was able to coax sounds and emotions out of his guitar I'm still in awe. Johnny Depp was also on the bill with him, and I was less impressed with him. I like him as an actor, but as a performer... not so much. A LOT of the women in the audience were swooning over him, but that was them. Jeff did Johnny a BIG favor adding him to that show. Jeff accompanied him brilliantly and did not overwhelm him although he could have. No matter, I came to see one of MY guitar heroes and was not disappointed. I had wanted to get an autograph after the concert, but the side was SWAMPED with fans. In retrospect I wished I did. I was STUNNED, repeat STUNNED when I heard he died in Jan. 2023 just days before my birthday. I just could not handle it. I'm HAPPY was able to see him this last time in Chicago. May he rest in peace Jeff Beck Jul 16, 2026

Mandy Jo Smith Escape the Fate were good, but I must admit I lost complete respect for the band. They are huge idiots on stage. Avatar put on a really good show! :) The Glamour of the Kill lead singer said he loved my name. It is his mom's name. :) Pop Evil / Escape the Fate / Avatar / Glamour Of The Kill Jul 16, 2026

James Anderson 89 I was there. David was brilliant. I soaked up everything he did. I was disappointed that the audience booed his backup singers when they came out. It was Luther Vandross and Ava Cherry. They were alright but did not deserve the negative response. David knew exactly what he was doing in picking both of them. Of course Luther became a HUGE star years later so he got the final word.! I liked that David mentioned Gays in Chicago and that made me so proud. I had started following him since Ziggy and I never turned back. This was my first Bowie concert and I ended up seeing him many more times in the years to come. He had a direct and profound impact on my life. I miss him David Bowie Jul 16, 2026
James Anderson 89 I was there with my cousin. We were sitting on the floor and started to smoke some pot. A guy came along and he shared his with ours and we were knocked out. Luckily I woke up in time to see Lynryd and they rocked out. Gimme Three Steps will always be my best memory of them. When the Who came out they were monsters. They did all of Quadrophenia and it knocked me out. My cousin finally waked up while they were on LOL. I lost my concert ticket to that show but I am glad it was remembered on here. Big thanks The Who / Lynyrd Skynyrd Jul 16, 2026

Eldee I went to this concert when I was in my early 20's and lived in central Az. Kiss was the headliner, but I was going to see Montrose perform and enjoy seeing the other 2 on the ticket aside from Kiss. For me, Kiss was OK to listen to, but I never bought any of their albums or cared much about them. They were all the rage with younger teenagers IMO. I just wonder if there is any possibility that ANYBODY may have knowledge of whether any video exists of Montrose playing during the extreme, radical lightning storm above them while they were on stage even through minutes of mild and tolerable rain? I am 72 now and have never before or since witnessed such an awesome display of lightning. In fact, it was so incredible that when Kiss came out to close after the lightning was over, ALL of their pyrotechnics, light displays, cannon simulations and various gyrations were laughably weak sauce in comparison to what everyone had just witnessed as GOD treated us to a taste of what he can provide if he's in the mood. The whole thing shrunk Kiss's closing act to a comparatively mild experience. Bob Seeger & the SBB, Ted Nugent, Montrose, Kiss Jul 15, 2026
