 Martin Delaney A very special gig and Shirley Manson herself ahead of the gig "To be asked to grace the stage with Edinburgh Castle as our backdrop will be, without doubt, one of the greatest honours of my professional career.” Goodbye Mr Mackenzie got the crowd suitably warmed up with a short but very good set. Highlights for me were them coming on to the Julee Cruise song Mysteries of Love and launching into Open Your Arms. The Rattler and Goodbye Mr Mackezie sounded particularly good on the big stage at Edinburgh Castle. Before Garbage entered the stage we were treated to a surprise appearance by a pipe band who played Flower of Scotland for us, very cool. Garbage also came to a Twin Peaks song Laura Palmer's Theme Tune which was cool. It was great to see Shirley in full highland dress and the whole band in kilts. Song highlights for me I Think I'm Paranoid, Stupid Girl, It's All Over But The Crying, Lovesong, Push It. And of course, Only Happy When It Rains and it actually did start raining just before they played it, could not have been more perfect. The 'Scottish' weather did not spoil anyone's enjoyment as the rain held off until near the end.
